Updates[edit]

It would be good to keep this table matched with the Europe section of 2019–20_Wuhan_coronavirus_outbreak_by_country_and_territory#Europe. Boud (talk) 16:27, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Woow! Boud, thank you for that source !! Yug (talk) 18:46, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! The EU is a tightly integrated, well-organised rich part of the world. There could be similar medical coordinations corresponding to other regional groupings, and if not, there'll be pressure to develop them over the coming years: Category:Public health organizations. A better, more specific category would be something like Category:International public health organizations. Boud (talk) 09:58, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • The ECDC page https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/cases-2019-ncov-eueea is now getting a little more difficult to use. For the total per EU/EEA/UK country, it's still OK. For the cases per day, the graph (as of ref name="ECDC_EU_EEA_UK_20200204") shows the dates offset by one day (maybe the day of an ECDC publishing of the event? or the person responsible for generating the graph didn't know how to handle plotutils or gnuplot or another equivalent graphing backend properly?). For the moment, the numbers are small enough that this is still usable. Boud (talk) 11:47, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just to clarify the warning in the previous comment: the ECDC graphs since 4 Feb show dates that may be offset by one day; better find a specific reference for any cases that are disputed. Boud (talk) 21:30, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • The ECDC graphs continue to be typically offset by a day after the mainstream media reports that refer to national official medical authorities' announcements. See https://archive.ph/w4JDd for an example (compare to the references in the table). Boud (talk) 13:20, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Europe v.s. EU[edit]

@Msangjunboon2018: This template is for "Europe" as a geographical area, using the definition used in the corresponding prose article. This overlaps strongly with the EU, of which UK is no longer formal part (but in practice nobody really knows how tightly it will remain integrated). There are various places in Wikipedia where conventions have been developed about how to "divide up" the world's countries for convenience in the Wikipedia while respecting NPOV and not getting into territorial/political disputes. But this template is not the place to sort out those debates or re-open them. Boud (talk) 09:58, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Date sorting[edit]

The first column should use {{dts}} to make the dates sortable. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:17, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Subject: Rate Comparison Diagrammes

Opinion: Syncing the start date till first 100 or 500 cases is more limited metric.

Please revert to syncing from first 100 or 500 cases. This really showed a better comparison of rates of actual development and spreading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.244.214.142 (talk) 09:38, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
