Mass message sender granted[edit]

Wikipedia mass messenger.svg

Hello. Your account has been granted the "massmessage-sender" user right, allowing you to send messages to multiple users at once. A few important things to note:

  • Messages should only be sent to groups of users who are likely to be interested in the topic.
  • For regular mailings such as those for WikiProjects, localized events, or newsletters, users should be informed of how they can unsubscribe from future mailings.
  • The mass messaging tool should never be used for canvassing with the intention of influencing the outcome of discussions.

For more information, refer to the guidance for use. If you do not want mass message sender rights anymore, just let me or any other administrator know and we will remove it. Thank you and happy editing! — xaosflux Talk 10:01, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Testing[edit]

I created you a personal sandbox MMS List, it is at User:Innisfree987/SandboxMMS - feel free to change it anyway you want. I usually use something like this before sending any MMS's out (especially to BIG lists) to make sure it has a good timestamp and no formatting errors on delivery. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 10:03, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much, Xaosflux, for helping me get set up and for the good idea to use this demo habitually to test messages before the big list goes out! Much appreciated. Innisfree987 (talk) 19:26, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Spencer Ackerman article[edit]

Hi Innisfree987, I just wanted to ping you once again and let you know that I found some time last week to implement the previously discussed changes to the Spencer Ackerman article. I've removed of the material that relied entirely on primary sources and brought in as many secondary sources as I could find. WRD2030 (talk) 20:56, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@WRD2030, thanks for this head’s up! I saw your ping that you were planning on it but missed the edits. Look forward to reading. Innisfree987 (talk) 23:15, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Innisfree987, I just saw your latest changes. Are interviews with the subject (such as the 2009 CJR piece) not usable for a biography? WRD2030 (talk) 18:35, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@WRD2030, per WP:BLP, such primary-sourced (ie not fact-checked) claims should not be used when they are "unduly self-serving", as is very much the case with Ackerman describing his own work as ‘a new approach’ and ‘detailed and innovative coverage’. I’ll add the overall promotionalism of the entry continues to concern me. I’ll continue editing as I have bandwidth. Innisfree987 (talk) 18:47, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Innisfree987, I see. Thank you for clarifying. WRD2030 (talk) 19:46, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Epiphany[edit]

Happy new year, in friendship! - Epiphany seems like a good day to say so, after a Bavarian peasants' mass (sorry, on the train home, no recent pics of that - just keep watching), and two DYK, even with a pic I took. I enjoyed meetings with friends in real life, and wish you many of those. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:56, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Happy new year to you as well my friend @Gerda Arendt! The sparklingly sunlight on fresh snow seems like a very auspicious way to start the year—thank you! Innisfree987 (talk) Innisfree987 (talk) 21:38, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks you! 2022 began happily with vacation. I uploaded images but stopped at 22 January - click on songs. 30 January means 10 years of Precious. It's also the birthday of a friend, - I'm so happy I mentioned his DYK on his 90th birthday when he was still alive. I have a great singer on DYK whom I heard, Elena Guseva, and wait for a Recent death appearance of Georg Christoph Biller whom I saw in action. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:37, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

February songs[edit]

February songs
Creek frozen.jpg

Today is a feast day for which Bach wrote several cantatas including Mit Fried und Freud ich fahr dahin, BWV 125, which was on DYK 10 years ago and TFA 4 years ago. I'm less happy that Georg Christoph Biller had to wait days for a Main page appearance under recent deaths, and then stayed not even for a full day. It would have been so meaningful today, with the man in the cantata saying he can depart in joy and peace. - The February pic was taken in memory last year. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:00, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I like my talk today (keeping Biller a bit longer, and even explaining how it works), and managed to picture two more vacation days --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:46, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I’m happy Biller had a little longer moment; it’s so difficult when RDs are given short shrift. And thank you for these shimmering images, @Gerda Arendt! Innisfree987 (talk) 01:17, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Today, I decorated my talk with a Bach cantata. I heard it last year when missing RexxS began, and "not letting go" was a theme. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:36, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
my joy - more on my talk --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:57, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Gerda Arendt, congratulations!! Wow, TFA. Perhaps one day, for me… Innisfree987 (talk) 20:35, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
thank you, and why not? ... let me know if I can help, - I'm proud that several recent first FAs began on my talk. Valentine's Day edition, with spring flowers and plenty of music --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:39, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Gerda Arendt, thank you so much for sharing these good wishes. How much we can all use them right now. And thank you also for the offer to help me with a TFA! I hope to take you up on that sometime—as you can probably tell from my scant wiki presence, I am quite overextended at the moment but I hope for a time that allows that project! Thank you again. Now, you can also listen on YouTube, and more music, the piece by Anna Korsun begins after about one hour, and the voices call "Freiheit!" (freedom, instead of "Freude", joy). Music every day, pictured in songs. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:38, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Would appreciate your help[edit]

Hello Innisfree,

I trust you're well. This article contains a voice recording of the subject's name. I have tried to replicate it on another article but don't seem to know how it was done.

Can you help me with an explanation or a resource I could read. I'd be most grateful.

Thanks --OtuNwachinemere (talk) 16:35, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@OtuNwachinemere, I’m afraid I don’t know! You could ask at the WP:Help desk or WP:The Teahouse. Happy editing, Innisfree987 (talk) 20:33, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Adding product images to Ormonde Jayne wiki page[edit]

Hello Innisfree,

I hope you are well. I have tried to add relevant images before to this article but they were removed due to licensing issues.

The images creator (johneselby) has signed up to Wiki Commons and has uploaded the relevant images to be uploaded so that they can be freely used under the Wiki Commons license. The images are:

Man-Woman

Signature-Packs

Ormonde_Jayne_Perfumes_Packaging

Would you be able to advise the next steps for these to be uploaded to the Ormonde Jayne page?

Also, can you advise of the process to get the logo to be licensed so that this can also be used on the Wiki page?

Many Thanks for your help!

WP:AFC Helper News[edit]

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Ukraine day today: Maks Levin DYK, expanding Kyiv Symphony Orchestra (have tickets), and creating Anthony Robin Schneider, the bass who could be heard opening the singing in Beethoven's Ninth twice on 10 March 2022, live in Frankfurt, Germany, and recorded in Auckland, New Zealand, singing "Freiheit!" (freedom) instead of "Freude" (joy), in a tradition started after the Fall of the Wall. In case of interest. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:26, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve just gotten a chance to listen—thank you so much for sharing @Gerda Arendt. Gorgeous and very moving—I did not know about the rewritten tradition. And a beautiful collection for Ukraine day! My goodness, how special to have tickets for the Kyiv Symphony. I hope it’s a wonderful outing. Innisfree987 (talk) 02:29, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Edith Prentiss[edit]

Updated DYK query.svgOn 8 May 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Edith Prentiss, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that disability-rights activist Edith Prentiss objected to the title of a documentary about her, Edith Prentiss: Hell on Wheels, for being too mild? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Edith Prentiss. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Edith Prentiss), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

DYK nomination[edit]

I nominated the article on Nina Jankowicz at WP:DYKN. I was going to do this a couple days ago but I forgot -- anyway, I named you as a co-writer since, well, you wrote a bunch of it. I figure it'd be something nice to hang on the ol' userpage (if you don't want to be on it, let me know and I'll take you off). Cheers! jp×g 18:32, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that’s generous of you! And thanks for letting me know. I’ll try to add some more about the books and maybe expand the lede a little before it hits the big show; I think that could improve due weight. Innisfree987 (talk) 00:24, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
