Taking a break from specific article(s)[edit]

When you are temporarily taking a break from specific article(s) due to annoyance about certain things, or to calm down after a consensus was reached you didn't agree with, but still editing articles generally on Wikipedia, is that still called a wikibreak? I know we have the term "semi-wikibreak" but it's not clear from the page if that's referring to the same thing. I think a semi-wikibreak might just mean you're spending less time on Wikipedia than before, not that you have consciously decided to pause editing specific article(s). Is there a term for that? Wikibreak for IP users?[edit]

How can an IP user (like me) announce a wikibreak. IP users cannot edit user pages, so how will I, 2001:8003:B1B8:BF00:DC70:AC4A:4821:E057, announce a wikibreak. If anyone finds a solution, put it on this page. WikiBreak would greatly improve if we find a solution. I might be going on a wikibreak. 2001:8003:B1B8:BF00:DC70:AC4A:4821:E057 (talk) 09:00, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Announcing a wikibreak is sometimes done by regular editors to let others know not to expect a reply from a notice or talk page post during the break; or just to let others know why they haven't edited in a while. It can be helpful for others, but it's an optional courtesy and not required. To answer your question, the IP user talk page seems like the logical place, but usually it's not necessary or even helpful for an unregistered editor to make such an announcement. Generally it's probably not a good idea because many IPs are dynamic and shared among multiple users. It could be confusing and doing so would be a net negative if the unregistered editor moves to a different IP and the notice is left behind indefinitely. --DB1729talk 12:29, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok then. I, in fact, am an example of dynamic IPS, I also control 2001:8003:B1B8:BF00:DC70:AC4A:4821:E057, 101.185.66.160 (IPv4 addr.), 2001:8003:B1B8:BF00:689E:D8CE:BF9F:1917 (other IPv6)
I probably won’t go on a wiki break. 2001:8003:B1B8:BF00:9541:78E9:CB4:9EE4 (talk) 06:48, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
