Ianbrown (talk · contribs) – Ianbrown makes excellent article contributions, and works well with other contributors.   1. Neutral - can't see a reason to oppose with the huge edit count, lots of valid contributions, and likes cricket. But just not enough activities with regards to such things as AFDs, policy discussion, anti-vandalism or any admin-ish chores. A great contributor, and an asset to Wikipedia. Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
A. I'd use whatever tools are available that would improve our credibility as an information source. This would include dealing with persistent vandals, managing vandalised articles, merging, redirects etc. - but mainly rollback operations related to my very large watchlist I suspect. I would try to get a bit more involved than I currently am in the patrol and community areas. I am concerned by what seems to me to be increasing levels of vandalism and our ability to cope with this as the project expands. Hopefully I can contribute a bit to redressing the balance.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. I generally do what I enjoy which includes researching cricket related articles as well as almost anything to do with history, particularly that of Western Australia. A few I like: 1868 Aboriginal cricket tour of England, Perth Mint Swindle, Perth Mint, Eddie Gilbert, Fanny Durack.
I've sponsored a couple of lists through to WP:FL status: List of countries with nuclear weapons and List of Test cricket records (a big project!) and also had a bit to do with WP:FA Sydney Riot of 1879.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A. No conflicts that I'm aware of and certainly nothing that's caused me stress - I don't stress easily. I find that disagreements can usually be resolved by finding some common ground and trying to understand both points of view - failing that, look for consensus from a wider group. It's also important to try to give people an opportunity to avoid loss of face. I personally adhere to WP:1RR.
