Wikipedia:WikiProject Micronesia/Johnston Atoll work group[edit]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Micronesia/Johnston Atoll work group (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

This project has no activity and only 6 articles. There does not seem to be a need for this one. Kumioko (talk) 03:09, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep (as above in the other discussion) as this isn't a project (it's a work group of a project) and the project should decide which work groups it should and shouldn't have. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WikiProject Japan! 05:02, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete again a one-member 2007 'collaboration' never got off the ground. I've also referred this Mfd to WikiProject Micronesia and will be happy to change my view according to their reaction. --Kleinzach 08:14, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • keep perhaps you could simply mention this types of dead work group pages to there parent projects see what they would like to do with them - instead of asking them to be deleted here? You a member of this project?Moxy (talk) 20:48, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(Again) this has been referred to WikiProject Micronesia. If they are interested they will take part in this Mfd. --Kleinzach 00:59, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Do you not think it would best to consult this projects that you have no connection to before nominating there sub pages for deletion? Perhaps there is info on this pages that can be moved or saved elsewhere. In other words this is not the best place to determine if this sub page are relevant and still needed by there parent project. One can assume the projects participates would know best not us here. This sub pages have the potential of being like Wikipedia:WikiProject Micronesia/Guam work group but if we delete them we will never find out will we. Moxy (talk) 01:16, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Moxy: Guam has a population of 178,000. Johnston Atoll is uninhabited. Please read the relevant pages before posting. --Kleinzach 05:13, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The project was notified of the deletion submission. I have absolutely no problem with keeping it if they step forward and say they want it left alone. But a WikiProject with 6 pages (or anything less than 50 or so really) is just a complete waste. The scope is so small that as a project it would be almost pointless. It would be like creating a WikiProject for people who were killed by meteorites. There can't be more than 5 or 6 of those! --Kumioko (talk) 18:54, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This sub pages should be dealt with by the projects themselves. Projects are free to delete their pages after a deletion discussion. They simply need to talk about it, come to a decision and then apply {{db-xfd|votepage=link to closed deletion discussion}}. See G6. Technical deletions - Uncontroversial maintenance.Moxy (talk) 18:39, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Or simply {{db-g6}} as a housekeeping deletion. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WikiProject Japan! 07:32, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes indeed, the project could have dealt with this if it had been active, but they didn't — hence nom. took the initative. Good for him! P.S. No-one has posted at the WikiProject Micronesia since last September. --Kleinzach 00:23, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You mean no one has posted since this month (new member) and last month (GA updates) and the month before (resources added)- pls talk to this projects before we intrude. As its clear people are not sure what this projects are upto.Moxy (talk) 01:02, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
