This is an encyclopedia, not a place to have fun. E Wing (talk) 00:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
At the risk of turning this into a wikipolitics thread, I'd say Wikipedia is a place to have fun - as long as it helps building an encyclopaedia. I very much don't see how this would help toward that goal, however. --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 08:39, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm trying to assume good faith here. But if your family members are going to die soon and you need them to know who has a crush on whom in junior high school, why not just e-mail that information to them? Or for that matter, just tell them when you talk to them? You don't need to post it on a public web site. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 13:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. This kind of content is not appropriate for Wikipedia as it consists of unverifiable gossip about living people. But it's especially not appropriate for a User talk page. Most of what appears on a User talk page should be other Wikipedia editors' comments to you about your Wikipedia activity and your responses -- not you gossiping about other people who may not even use Wikipedia and might not even know you are writing about them behind their backs. That's why you can't just say, "if you dont like it dont read it"; other people are affected by this kind of content. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 02:28, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, gathering random gossip has absolutely nothing to do with building factual biographies. We're not a blog site or a private wiki. User talk pages should be reserved for messages to the user in question anyway. Also, isn't this inappropriate use of role accounts? --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 08:39, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I heard through the grapevine that the consensus is to delete per nom. Blatant social networking.--WaltCip (talk) 18:49, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Cute but delete this is not a free blogging website, per WP:BLOG --Enric Naval (talk) 18:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I'm sure we can recommend them another service, perhaps even one that runs MediaWiki, that will be appropriate for them. I suspect they might have chosen Wikipedia because some schools have more popular social networking sites blocked. -- Ned Scott 08:22, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - WP is not a free blog hosting service, and the multiple comments from different IPs above makes it seem that the user[s] are only here for social networking. There are far more appropriate places for that than WP. RichardΩ612 Ɣ |ɸ 11:24, May 3, 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete per above. User has no encyclopedic contributions. Go to Blogspot instead. MER-C 11:56, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:BLOG. Macy (Review me!) 15:07, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a blog or social network. Try Blogspot or MySpace. -[[Ryan]] (me) (talk) 22:54, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per all above. It is gossip on non-notable people. It is also being used as a blog. And I'm sorry that your family is about to die. Please tell me if there is any thing I can do to help you :-) Mm40|Talk|Sign|Review 00:43, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, aside from the whole "we are not a gossip blog" angle, there is also BLP considerations here. I'm not sure that everybody on this page would enjoy being discussed in such a manner. Lankiveil (speak to me) 07:30, 4 May 2008 (UTC).[reply]
  • Delete, Wikipedia is not a blog. StaticGull  Talk  12:27, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
