The result of the discussion was: I've duplicated the fair use rationale for all linked articles, which should resolve OP's concerns. No comment on NFCC/NFC compliance, however. -FASTILY 02:19, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:NFCC#8. The image is not the subject of critical commentary in the article, and it is not used as the primary means of identification of the article subject. The article topic can easily be understood without it. — JJMC89(T·C) 05:38, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:NFCC criteria 8 and 10c. The rationales are identical, not specific to each use. The photo is not the object of discussion in either article, contrary to the rationales. CBS Evening News barely mentions the event related to the image, let alone having critical commentary of the image. Cronkite's article at least has plenty of discussion of his reporting on Kennedy's assassination; however, what is said can be understood without the image. — JJMC89(T·C) 05:53, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - the non-free usage rationales provide no insight as to what the purpose of the image just claiming its historic. -- Whpq (talk) 02:00, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Remove from Alternative rock & Nirvana (band) -FASTILY 00:31, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The sample of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (Featured Article), which I resampled, may belong in the song article, whose critical commentary may be sufficient enough to support, and may likely comply with WP:NFCC#8. However, I'm unsure whether the same is true to sample usage in alternative rock (Good Article) and Nirvana (band) (also Featured Article). George Ho (talk) 18:41, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand, I could be wrong about the sample being useful and significant in the song article. George Ho (talk) 01:56, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The screenshot of Madonna's pose in the "Lucky Star" music video was uploaded by Legolas2186 for the song article in January 2009. Recently this year, another music video screenshot showing the backs of Madonna and two dancers (her bro Christopher Ciccone and Erika Belle) replaced the previous one. I don't know whether either screenshot meets WP:NFCC#8 more.

However, seeing the backs without seeing their faces makes me wonder whether the purpose of the image has been achieved. Furthermore, I don't think either screenshot has made free text content appear inadequate enough to describe the music video and what the video has been about. As I can assume, if critical commentary about the music video can be easily well understood without either screenshot, then both screenshots (old and new) may fail the criterion.
