Tagged US federal government, but stated author is BYU (a private university) and an employee of BYU. Wikiacc () 03:21, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Still Investigating Delete. Back to KEEP. There is no evidence this was taken by Kenny Crookston of BYU - I personally took it from the Department of Interior Website when he was serving as the secretary and it was his official picture published by the US Govt. Some random IP from Lancashire England made the edit and provided no evidence that it was true. Additionally, this picture was used by others prior to 2012 without attribution to BYU Photo and, if attribution was stated, it was used from the DOI website. --Trödel 16:03, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Returning to Keep - found an acceptable headshot of Mr. Echo Hawk to use in the articles that used the original file. The original file is copyrighted. Not sure if this is appropriate change - but it is now PD-USgov.
  • Keep (nom). Thanks @Trödel: for the correction. I’m having trouble finding the original (which is important to find) but a cropped version was his official photo on the DOI site. Wikiacc () 17:51, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • I was able to find this picture from before his time at the DOI where it is attributed to Kenny Crookston/BYU - I am confirming and if I can verify I will request speedy deletion --Trödel 22:26, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • I confirmed that the first use of this picture was for a BYU News announcement in August 2007. The photo used along with that article still has all the detailed properties attached. It clearly indicated the date the photo was taken 7/3/2007 and that Kenny Crookston was the Author. Also includes the camera and shot information. I'm guessing that Echohawk or BYU provided it to the DOI when he was appointed assistant secretary in 2009 and left as a professor at BYU to take the position. --Trödel 12:45, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • Delete first version, keep current version (nom). Thanks Trödel. Wikiacc () 13:24, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
