There is no critical commentary that requires the use of this image. The only mention of the graphics is the unsourced statement that "The game was praised for its graphics and realistic gameplay." Ricky81682 (talk) 20:52, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is no critical commentary use that supports the need for this non-free image. Technically this is doubly non-free, since it's a non-free screenshot of non-free Playboy covers. It is only used for a uncited list of features at Eve_of_Destruction_(series)#Historic_Details_and_References. Ricky81682 (talk) 20:59, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Give It All" was released as a promo single, not commercial. Does the image's presence help readers understand the song as a whole? George Ho (talk) 21:34, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

George, do you have any experience with Rise Against's history? (Maybe you do, but still...) "Give it All" was important for the band's mainstream success, and is one of their most well-known songs. Why would we delete it purely because it was a promo single? It helps show what the official thing looked like; so as not to buy any fake versions (that can happen if you're looking for a copy on eBay etc.). If it looked like this [2] then I'd understand, but it had official artwork. dannymusiceditor what'd I do now? 00:28, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the precedent, Danny: Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 April 29#File:Madonna - I Want You.JPG. --George Ho (talk) 00:43, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I don't agree that a commercial release is a prerequisite for making something the primary means of identification. Mona Lisa was never "commercially released"; the image has still been proliferated enough to become highly recognizable. Also, the precedent cited here isn't a perfectly analogous case because it was challenged on the basis of WP:NFCC#2, WP:NFCC#4, and WP:NFCC#8, whereas only #8 is being challenged here. (Though the nominator should have challenged those too; "The cover art can be obtained from Geffen Records" is not a precise indication of source, and does not give guarantees that the image has been previously published somewhere. – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 03:37, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Finnusertop: Regarding "Give It All", I didn't intend to challenge the image's original intent, which was part of official promotional release. Actually, the front cover is only used instead without infringing the promo CD's original intent. Previous publication is already proven by publishing images online. "I Want You" was a Marvin Gaye song, so that's... a different case there. But if you want me to challenge the image's respect for original role and publication history, I'll do so later. Besides, other promo images have been used (but replaced when commercial releases of singles exist). --George Ho (talk) 04:05, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
