Questions

1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?

   I seem to have a pattern of being a traveler. I do work in one place for a while until I get board and then I move to the next thing that sparks my interest. Right now my best work is happening as an ambassador, especially Editing Fridays, UAA sort of stuff and at featured sounds.

3. Have you been in editing disputes or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? If you have never been in an editing dispute, explain how you would respond to one.

   I try my hardest to avoid being confrontational. If i am in a dispute I find it best to talk calmly to the person. Most times that works. If that doesn't work I find it best to move most of my time/energy to another part of the encyclopedia. Citing BLPs or Hardcore/Punk bands is a great stress reliever.

First off: I'd support. You have clue, you manage to exist in a cesspool of drama (FS) without going insane or contributing to it, and you're a dedicated worker bee.

Now for the bad news:

ESC says you only use edit summaries 83% of the time (although it's better recently). This might be a problem with some people, although not a major problem.

PC says you have 15 articles. All of them are quite short. I'm not one to talk, but others with weird standards might.

EC indicates you have (not counting this month) five months of heavy activity, three months of light activity, and four months of almost no activity in the past 12 months. You'll have to explain the disappearance in the summer months, and you'll get some opposes, I'm sure.

My suggestion is to give it a few more months. If your edit count drops too low in May/June/July then running in August will get you raised eyebrows and a bunch of opposes. If you can get 250+ edits for those months then running in August will work. I only urge this conservative strategy because 1) I don't want you to get slaughtered for no good reason, and 2) if you run now and don't get promoted, you won't be realisticly able to run until December.

Guerillero, you're a bright, clueful user who's on the right track. If you want to pass RfA, I'd just address what Sven mentioned (edit summaries, a bit more sustained activity, etc.) and make sure you figure out what admin work you want to do—AIV, RfPP, XfD, CSD, RM, SPI, etc.—and make sure you've got plenty of experience there. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 02:15, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Guerillero, write something, anything and try to get it to GA or DYK - it's not hard. Really. Choose a subject. There are plenty of us who can give pointers. Writing content is what this place is all about, I personally resent the idea of non-content writers dictating rules for content-writers (note that I said idea - actually there are alot of non-content writers who do lots of useful stuff :))) ) Casliber (talk · contribs) 11:18, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comment - Casliber is right. I only have one article, and I took it to DYK. It took about four hours. Chzz, who has much more experience with writing, can get a new article to DYK level in half to a quarter of that time. You have 15 stubs, at least 10 of which are not big enough (or new enough) for DYK. However, if you expand one of those stubs 5 times in size, the timer resets and the new larger article qualifies for DYK through that method. Beefing up your stubs is an easy way to work on something you enjoy and show that you can generate good content. Also, and this might be a minority opinion, content creation also means uploading media. Spend a few hours looking for sounds once a month, put them in articles, toss the best ones to FS, and in six months you'll have a small arsenal of featured content to showcase.
