I created this username with my e-mail address thinking it only would be for my account login and didn't know others would be able to see it. I have no desire to let my e-mail address be public knowledge. I would change the e-mail address if I could but it's part of the college directory and I need to be able to use it constantly. While I now know that username changes must be recorded, I would greatly appreciate it if at the very least the @carleton.edu part could be kept out of public records. I get almost no spam at the current moment while it's only a matter of time before I get on every spammer's mailing list if my address remains out in the open. Anything that could be done to remove any mention of my e-mail address would be fantastic. I would ask for account deletion if I thought there was any chance of that happening. Thank you.

Recover[edit]

This is really weird, my user is User:Recover but when I sign with the tildes it says ReCover. I would like to all my things as ReCover (with the uppercase C). I do not believe this is the way it is "meant to be" because on the Swedish Wikipedia my username is ReCover in both places.

Hi Essjay, this is Elizabeth, can you change my real User name Elizabeth McKenzie to Pocahantes; being that for the last 10 days my personal email address has been posted on every search engine. This was a malicious posting by one of your volunteers whom I specifically asked not to post. Doesn't anyone oversee these college grad(?) volunteers or do they have full reign of what they do and say. The posting is still on the wikipedia vilage pump assistance page and I want my name deleted from it off once and for all. I think this is not only unprofessional, but also unethical and a violation of my privacy. Obviously, any re-direction of name change is futile without first deleting my personal information.

My office computer IP is 67.86.180.17. Also, referring to myself and my collegues as "sock poppets" is disgusting - and their claims of impersonating anyone are also infantile!!! If you give me a number, I would be more than happy to speak directly with you or the ones making this claim, then maybe they would stop these prankster accusations.

The heyoka article and sacred clown should be creditd to user Marlon Fire Thunder. I have written to Kat Walsh at the help desk and opened a help ticket as a formal complaint. The next person that I will contact will be Jimmy Wales if this doesn't get resolved immediately. Wikipedia has enough negative press as it is and I am shocked that they haven't revised their business standards so that they don't attract so much negative attention and act as professionals not arrogant, ignorant and malicious watchdogs.
