The account already exists. We cannot rename if the new name is already taken in the system. It would seem that you created that account yourself: that's why the instructions say that one should not create a new account with the name they want in advance. If you indeed own that account, log on to it and post here from that account, requesting that it be renamed to something else (please indicate what provisional name would be used). Once that is done, we will be able to rename "Fred chessplayer" to "Fred Chess". But this cannot be done without express consent from the current "Fred Chess" account.
