Hi I noticed that you keep uploading a larger version of the file but as per WP:FAIRUSE we can't host copyrighted files in unnecessarily large format or size. That's why a bot keeps reducing the size of the image. With that said, I noticed that your version was better since the initial version I uploaded had a white background, which I had to remove manually.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 04:49, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Pag-ibig ang Hihilom sa Daigdig, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Laging Handa Public Briefing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1096685. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. AfDs and article editing[edit]

Hi! I wanted to give you some official warnings about some of your edits and explanations as to why you're getting them. The warnings are for the following:

  • Removing the AfD template from an article currently at the Articles for Deletion process.
  • Adding copyrighted material to Wikipedia.
  • Writing in a non-neutral point of view.
  • Establishing notability for television productions.

I'll go through them one by one:

  • When an article is up for deletion at AfD, you cannot remove the deletion template. This doesn't stop the deletion discussion and is seen as disruptive behavior. The best way to contest the deletion is to improve the article, which I'll get into later. I must warn you that repeatedly removing it can lead to a block in editing if you continue after you've been warned.
  • Do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia. The issue here is that Wikipedia uses a license that allows people to use the content for whatever purpose, even selling or changing it. The content you were adding to the article verbatim was released under a restrictive copyright that only allows for very specific use and doesn't allow others to modify or sell said material. This is sort of a very quick rundown, so I'll post something else about this later.
  • Be careful when you write, as you need to make sure to be as neutral as possible. This can be a bit tricky, as what may be neutral in other areas will be seen as promotional and non-neutral on Wikipedia. For example, calling something a "hit show" is seen as non-neutral and promotional on here because this is something that's typically used in press releases and other advertising releases. It's seen as automatically promotional on Wikipedia. You can only use wording like that if we're directly quoting someone and even then, we have to be careful on how we use the quote. It's something I honestly struggled with at first and still occasionally have to be careful with.
  • The main issue here is with establishing notability. To show where this upcoming special is notable, you have to show where it's independently notable of the show as well as show that it's currently in production. The notability part is where it gets a bit tricky, as you need to show where there's been a depth of coverage. In most cases, episodes or specials won't become notable until they've aired and gained reviews, as the coverage of the production is going to be limited to a fairly short period of time.
For example, Nick releases a press release. Many outlets cover the material in the press release. While there may be dozens of outlets covering this, that doesn't show a depth of coverage since they're all reporting/summarizing the same material from the single press release. They may release a second press release and outlets may cover this, but this still typically won't be enough if all the coverage ultimately stems to coverage of two press releases. While it's not exactly the equivalent of two sources, it's not that far off since the outlets can only report on what information they've been given in those two press releases. There needs to be more than that out there. Coverage tends to be pretty light on most TV series, to be honest. It's the same for most films. Only a very, very few get the amount of coverage needed to establish notability prior to its release and those tend to be the huge blockbusters like Game of Thrones and Guardians of the Galaxy. Even then, those typically have a long wait time before the coverage is enough to establish notability.

I hope that this helps! ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 15:58, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oh! One other note - primary sources can't establish notability. They can be used to back up basic details but not show where the special is notable. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 16:01, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello ZionAndrew2005! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 15:59, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
