Took a general look, found no glaring mistakes or holes and made just minor changes. It looks like you did your homework, and therefore did a good job. Just one thing: Take a look at the General Features section of the Buddhist temples in Japan article. That info applies to Japanese architecture in general, and in Nishi and Hozumi's book in fact WAS about Japanese architecture (I wrote that section, and read the book). The info the section contains is mostly already here and there in your article, but it would be good to have something like that in your article too.

Hi Urashimataro! Long time no see. Somebody on de-wikipedia was wondering, about the following technicality, is karahafu　(唐破風) a gable or rather a bargeboard.
