Management of baldness

Hello, thanks for the suggestions. I have been quite Orwellian in my editing and have been able to reduce the article significantly, but there is a huge amount of information in the Androgenic alopecia section from the Management of baldness article, that is making it lopsided. As a physician, I know typically we divide baldness or alopecia up into androgenic alopecia, alopecia totalis, traction alopecia, and telogen effluvium (totalis and effluvium are what occur with chemotherapy) when we are evaluating in clinically, so I wanted the article (part of Wikiproject medicine) to mirror clinical and biomedical research. In this vein, I have created a separate "Management of androgenic alopecia" article to address androgenic treatment separately, and will leave "Management of baldness" as dealing with the larger 5 categories. Please advise, Ramwithaxe 22:20, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

Having problems with Belton1 deleting months of my work on those articles. Realize there were no edit summaries, but the edit summaries were on the talk page. When doing thousands of consecutive edits while rewriting articles I put summaries of the edits on the talk page. Please don't just come into an ongoing argument, have one sentence where you side with the other user, then disappear to give him license to vandalize the page. Ramwithaxe 20:08, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
That doesn't help someone who is looking at the article history and just sees many (apparently) unexplained edits. At the very least you should add some explanation in the edit summary. Please discuss the content dispute directly with the other editor, preferably on the article's talk page. Thanks.--ukexpat (talk) 20:13, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
That is what is going on right now. I have responded to your feedback and am including more summary of my edit content. However, he is taking your comment as license to delete 2 months of my work on Wikipedia. Please reference his comments on my talk page. If such is done, I will submit the issue to dispute resolution/arbitration as I do not believe that not including edit summaries is reason to undo a users edits without discussion of the problematic content, which has not been done. Ramwithaxe 20:21, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
I am not going to get involved in the content dispute, but I will make the point on the talk page that my comment is not to be taken as carte blanche to undo changes without discussion per the WP:BRD cycle.--ukexpat (talk) 20:26, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, perhaps that will slow down his aggressive behavior somewhat. In the interim I will submit it to for dispute resolution as the "resolution pyramid" on the talk page has degenerated. Ramwithaxe (talk) 20:35, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Now that I have looked at the talk page, I see that I have not made any comments there. As other editors are now taking issue, rightly or wrongly (I am not going opine on that), with your edits, and discussion on the talk page is not reaching a consensus, then DR is the next step.--ukexpat (talk) 20:37, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
You commented on my talk page. That is where he began talking carte blanche, as you put it. Ramwithaxe (talk) 20:46, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
I also believe this user is using sock puppets to create a false argument, so he may be more appropriately submitted for administrator attention. I am not completely familiar with the proper protocol on that, as I have never dealt with the issue personally before. Ramwithaxe (talk) 20:51, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

my deletions

I have now gone back and deleted "only" my comments, save for two which can stay. Plaese leave them. Suddenly, my deleted messages were back, seconds after I deleted them. I'll say (type) it, again, this is all quite maddening, to try and do one simple edit for a friend, have to battle unknown editors who pop up from out of nowhere but aren't actually in charge, and then...when I try to simply erase much of what what "inadvertantly" posted in public (versus a private message to 2 editors, which is what I assumed my messages were), all that I erased suddenly appears again, with an accompanying message from yet another person telling me not to delete anything but what "I" typed on this matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cartoonistguy47 (talk • contribs) 21:18, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Nicola Benedetti

The MBE redirect on Nicola Benedetti allows the mouse over text to provide the name of the degree within the Order of the British Empire to which the recipient was appointed. When you link directly to the Order of the British Empire this information is missing (which requires the reader to return to the previous page). I'm happy with a direct link so long as you you're happy that the link now provides the name of the entire order instead of the 5th degree within the order.

(The best option would be to re-write the Order of the British Empire page to describe the different degrees then link the redirect to the sub-heading within the page).

The Help Project Newsletter
Issue V - January 2013
Project news summary
From the editor

Hello again from the Help Project!

In the last newsletter (which was quite a while ago sorry!) I talked about my fellowship and the plans for improving the main portal page, Help:Contents. Well I'm sad to say that my fellowship is now over, but very happy to say that the proposed improvements to that page have been completed and implemented. Do check it out if you haven't already.

Another important and frequently used help page, Wikipedia:Contact us, has also seen a significant revamp. You may recognise the design inspiration from the new tutorial pages.

In project news, we now have a subscription to the "article alerts" service. Any deletion nominations, move discussions, or requests for comments on pages within the Help Project's scope will now show up at Wikipedia:Help Project/Article alerts. So that's definitely a page which project members might want to watch.

Any comments or suggestions for future issues are welcome at Wikipedia:Help Project/Newsletter. If you don't wish to receive this newsletter on your talk page in future then just edit the participants page and add "no newsletter" next to your name.

Hi, I asked you a question under references on the January 11 section in reply to your answer. You may not realize it's there. Please reply. Thanks, Peter — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.39.81.115 (talk) 06:23, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Why?

I don't understand why you are going through the Teahouse Q/A forum and refactoring questions, removing URL's and replacing them with Wikilinks. Although this is technically correct, I was always told it is considered rude to refactor anyone else's entry on Wikipedia, even if what you are doing doesn't change the content and is technically correct. It is important that we make the new editors that bring their questions to the teahouse feel like they are in a safe environment, and someone else changing the format of their questions doesn't do that. Thanks for your attention to this. Gtwfan52 (talk) 16:03, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Blimey if it's that much of an issue I will revert them all.--ukexpat (talk) 16:05, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
 Done.--ukexpat (talk) 16:06, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
Reverting them was not necessary, but thank you. We do things a bit differently at teahouse than at the help desk; creating a safe, inviting environment is just part of it. If you want to help out at teahouse, it would be advisable to read the pages linked at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Host lounge. Please don't be offended; offense was not intended at all. Like I said, things are different at the Teahouse than at the Help desk. Happy editing! Gtwfan52 (talk) 16:15, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

UFO DVD image

Thanks. It is obvious that I really did not understand the use of the UFO DVD cover to illustrate the actor's articles, where no other image was available of the actors. What is the approved form of words that is used to re-direct people to the image so that they can see the actor/person's picture, in the case that a non-free use image is available elsewhere in Wikipedia?- Peter Ellis - Talk 17:27, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Corey Large picture rights

It's his publicity picture and widely distributed. Not sure how else to get notation on rights.......it's released to public just for that purpose and wiki would fall into that.

Halifax Explosion

Thank you for your e-mail. However, "Halifax Explosion" with a capital "E" is the proper term as it has been in use for the past 95 years and continues as such - except on Wikipedia. Otherwise, the eventIt is rarely printed with a lower case "e". Grammar has nothing to do with it.

Notwithstanding, I am only interested in the accuracy of the article's content. I am not interested in engaging in useless disputes - especially with someone who does not actively contribute to the page.

I looked on the disambiguation page, read over the rules regarding the use of proper nouns and made the adjustment accordingly.

Thanks for the message. I am not disagreeing with you nor do I want to engage in a useless dispute. If there is a case to be made for the article to be moved back to Halifax Explosion, we can look at that.--ukexpat (talk) 13:23, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Manish Sharma is an employee in Panasonic India and not a businessman

Hi,

This is reference to the change that you made in the [[Manish Sharma (Corporate Executive) page. The person, Manish Sharma is a current employee in Panasonic India and is the Managing Director and not a businessman. Referring him as a businessman is misguiding to the general public, therefore, I request you to please undo the change.

For any reference please feel free to be in touch with me.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gadgetsgigs (talk • contribs) 09:06, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

As has been explained to you elsewhere "Managing Director" and "Corporate Executive" are sub-sets of "businessman". Also per Wikipedia's guidelines on disambiguating titles, they should be as general as possible. So the article should remain at its current title.--ukexpat (talk) 13:19, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Re Corey Large pic

With respect I think you're missing the point here.

It's a "publicity" pic.

These are royalty free, rights free pics actors, authors, people who want to be in the public eye, sent out with their media packages and releases hoping someone will publishing it and give them some publicity. Every actor has one including Large.

It's not just widely distributed, it's expressly distributed to generate publicity and interest with no strings attached. It's a standard industry practice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ianjohnharvey (talk • contribs) 15:14, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

And with all due respect back you don't understand copyrights. We cannot assume that the image has been appropriately released or licensed for Wikipedia purposes just because it is a "publicity pic". We must assume that it is is copyrighted and unless an appropriate permission can be provided, it will be deleted. It really is as simple as that. If you would like to get the opinions of others please bring this up at WP:MCQ.--ukexpat (talk) 17:12, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

2001 reformation

At age 40, Stiv Bators died after being struck by a car in Paris in 1990. Stiv is roundly remembered as one of the very best front men in punk and post-punk rock.[3]

Much like the original line up, Brian James reformed The Lords of the New Church in 2001 at an Irish pub in Austin Texas on St. Patricks Day, before James' performance with MAD FOR THE RACKET with Wayne Kramer at SXSW. Other founding member Dave Tregunna was involved some months later. To complete the line up, new U.S vocalist Stephen Marque and two additional members, Jez and Ozzy from The Brian James Gang were recruited. Armed with a modern and authentic approach that was true to the original Lords mantra: TRUTH IS THE SWORD OF US ALL, the band began rehearsals in Brighton, England.

From the start the new members found it difficult to tolerate Steven Marque, and after some months on the road, they began to loathe him and subsequently quit an already misadventure packed 2002 European Tour without any notice; leaving two supporting roles to fill.

Brian James and Dave Tregunna reformed The Lords of the New Church in 2002-2003 with LustKillers frontman Adam Becvare who was recruited to fill the role of second guitarist and eventually vocals. Becvare was especially well loved by fans on tour, as his vocals for Lords classics was genuinely spot on with Stiv's. The lineup recorded the ten-song CD "Hang On," which remains officially unreleased, and toured Europe again in spring 2003.

Outside of a 25th Anniversary show in London, these Lords have yet to produce any new recorded music or tour in subsequent years. Yet, A boxed set "The Gospel Truth" was issued to commemorate 30 years anniversary of the formation of the band.

Formative member Nick Turner now runs a successful business in Los Angeles, and Dave Tregunna recently toured in the reformed Sham 69, while playing regularly around Europe in his new band Tango Pirates with Lords second drummer Danny Fury.

[Brian James] continues to release albums with The Brian James Gang and re-recorded his punk anthem "New Rose." He also recorded and released an album of acoustic songs with ex Lords of the new Church pianist Mark Taylor called "Chateau Brian." He also toured with old Damned band mate Rat Scabies performing songs from the first two Damned albums. Re mixed old multi track masters of old Lords of the new church tracks from abbey Road, in association with EMI Music & Easy Action Records to create the thumping Lords of the New Church album "Rockers." Is currently (2012) recording an album of new versions of old Damned songs called "damned if i do." Is due to record a second Brian James gang album, and overseeing a release of his old band Tanz Der Youth. Is writing a book about his life and compiling an anthology for 2014.

Becvare went on to resurrected Vancouver's The Black Halos in 2004, writing and recording two albums and touring internationally. His LustKillers have also released "Black Sugar Sessions" and "That Which Does Not Kill Us" and continue to tour internationally.

Due to repeated demands from fans, it has been said that James & Becvare are investigating writing new material for a potential new Lords of the New Church album and possible tour for 2013.

I can see one problem with most of that information, namely that we do not currently have a source for most of it. One line is sourced, and I presume that line is correct: "At age 40, Stiv Bators died after being struck by a car in Paris in 1990." What is wrong with the other lines? Are they factually inaccurate? Henry Behrens user page draft

Thank you so much! if you can move the text from my user page, that would be great, thanks! That means the article will be under review, correct? will I be able to add photos while it is under review? BekittrellBekittrell (talk) 18:57, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

No, if I move it to the mainspace it is not under review as it would be if it was in the articles for creation process. It may be better to move it into articles for creation for the moment, rather than directly into the main space, although articles in mainspace are always "under review" as anyone can edit them (subject to policies and guidelines of course). As for the images, what is their copyright status? If their copyright has expired, they can be uploaded to Commons and added to the draft immediately; if they are copyrighted and will be uploaded pursuant to the non-free content criteria, they will be uploaded to Wikipedia and cannot be added to the article until it is in mainspace. Images can be tricky so we can discuss that further here if necessary.--ukexpat (talk) 19:05, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

articles for creation

Yes, put it in the Articles For Creation, I want to make sure the title is Henry Behrens, Gunmaker. The images were sent to me by the historian at the Sarasota Historical Society. Some are published in a book (that I used as a reference), they were originally pblished in the Sarasota Times (that is now called something else). Anyone who is in the photos or took the photos is dead. bekittrellBekittrell (talk) 19:17, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

I will move you user page text accordingly. The title will be Henry Behrens when it is finally in mainspace, we only use disambiguating titles (such as John Smith (Australian politician)) when there are others with the same name. I will leave a note here when I have created the AFC.--ukexpat (talk) 19:21, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
OK I think I did it correctly: it's now at AFC - Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Henry Behrens. I also did some initial clean up to bring the draft into compliance with WP:MOSBIO. The lead para needs some more work. Please take a look at WP:LEAD and see if you can improve it as described in those guidelines. OK, ready to talk about images?!--ukexpat (talk) 19:35, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

images/etc

Thank you! Am I answering you using the correct format? What advise do you have for images? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bekittrell (talk • contribs) 19:46, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

You are doing fine (but please remember to sign your messages on talk pages) - I just made this section a subsection of the earlier message so that I can see that they are all related. First question: where do the images come from and who owns their copyright?--ukexpat (talk) 19:53, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
By the way, if we can get the draft into good shape for the mainspace, I think it would be an excellent candidate for a DYK spot on the main page, but we can get to that later.--ukexpat (talk) 19:58, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Copyright terms do not depend on the dates of death of the subjects. Can you determine how old the images are? If it is pretty clear that they meet one of the public domain tests listed at Template:PD-US, it should be OK to use them. If they are not public domain and if they are images of Behrens himself, we can probably use one (or at most 2) of them pursuant to the non-free content criteria, but that's a little more tricky.--ukexpat (talk) 20:07, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
Most are from 1910-1920's. A couple are NOT included in the book that I cited. The book cites Sarasota County of Historical Resources as its source.BekittrellBekittrell (talk) 20:59, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Manish Sharma (Panasonic) should not be mentioned as Non-notable Corporate Bureaucrat

I made this page Manish Sharma (businessman) on Manish Sharma who is the current Managing Director, Panasonic India. There are certain issues with the page, the biggest one being that Manish Sharma is being termed as a Non-notable Corporate Bureaucrat. In my opinion this is not correct. I understand that we need to provide proper facts/references to support it and here they are:

I would start with a statement from The Economic Times (Category-A Business newspaper in India) here, "Japan's largest consumer electronics company, Panasonic has for the first time ever appointed an Indian to head its flagship consumer durables business in the country. Manish Sharma (41), erstwhile head for sales and marketing of Panasonic India, has been promoted as its managing director from April."

Here is the link of the same: http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2012-03-06/news/31127441_1_panasonic-india-daizo-ito-durables-market

His name has appeared in other major newspapers and magazines in India. Here are the links:

Apart from these, he has received various awards, one of the most recent one being, the National Conservation Energy Awards 2012 held in December on behalf of Panasonic.

Also, the page isn't an Orphan page now as it was earlier as it is linked to three different articles.

Therefore, Manish Sharma by no means necessary can be categorized as a Non-notable Corporate Bureaucrat.I request you to please help me correct this issue. Please respond. Urgent.Gadgetsgigs (talk) 14:17, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Er no, he isn't being described as a "Non-notable Corporate Bureaucrat". Deletion of the article is being discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Manish Sharma (businessman) so please make your points there. There is nothing I can do.--ukexpat (talk) 15:16, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Corey Large Copyright

Again with respect. I do know quite a bit about copyright.

There's a disconnect in our conversation here and maybe we can simplify things over a minor issue?

(Minor to me at least in that I am fully satisfied the pic is in public domain but need to demonstrate that to you without minimizing your concerns)

Would adding © 2012 Corey Large to the credit satisfy the requirements?

Or would you like an email from him asserting his rights to the picture?

Not sure where to go here on this. 00:09, 23 January 2013 (UTC)~

We need an appropriate copyright release to be communicated to Wikimedia - see WP:CONSENT and the notice on your talk page.--ukexpat (talk) 01:12, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

What I am asking is how do you request a page be speedily deleted? DavidCitron (talk) 17:23, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Which page is it?--ukexpat (talk) 17:28, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
There is no page in particular. I'm just wondering how do you nominate one for speedily deletion. DavidCitron (talk) 17:41, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
You apply the appropriate deletion template to the article page. See WP:Criteria for speedy deletion; and the templates are described at Wikipedia:Template messages/Deletion.--ukexpat (talk) 17:47, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Goodhue image

This photo of Mrs. Goodhue, taken by Dr. Lyle Goodhue in their kitchen in Berwyn Heights, Maryland in 1942, illustrates the safe use of the "bug bomb". It was published in "Aerosol Technicomment" by Aerosol Techniques, Incorporated, volume XII, No. 2. The article, "Aerosol Industry Milestones, How It Began, and What Happened Afterward", by Lyle D. Goodhue, a consultant to Aerosol Techniques, included the photo. The original, after more than 70 years, has been lost, but copies of this publication are available in family files. Dr. Goodhue died in 1981 and Mrs. Goodhue in 1995, leaving the files to the family. I am their son, Jackson Goodhue, and I was in the kitchen when the picture was taken.````

Orphaned non-free media (File:JoGH Logo.png)

Thanks for uploading File:JoGH Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:18, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

NAV-X

Just want to let you know I replied to the contest the speedy deletion with details. I don't know if you or somebody else reviews the reasons I feel this is not spam and would like to know what needs to change versus other examples I've found, in order for it to not be considered spam. I also put in a request to change my username so that it doesn't look to be associated with the product per another comment.

Thanks in advance for your help.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Dynamicsnavx (talk • contribs)

Articles for Creation urgently needs YOUR help!

Articles for Creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 2636 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our Help Desk.

Do you have what it takes?
  1. Are you familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines?
  2. Do you know what Wikipedia is and is not?
  3. Do you have a working knowledge of the Manual of Style, particularly article naming conventions?
  4. Are you autoconfirmed?
  5. Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions.

PS: we have a great AFC helper script at User:Timotheus Canens/afchelper4.js which helps in reviewing in just few edits easily!

We would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, only a small handful of users are reviewing articles. Any help, even if it's just 2 or 3 reviews, it would be extremely beneficial.

Help Project newsletter : Issue 4

The Help Project Newsletter
Issue IV - September 2012
Project news summary

From the editor

Hi, and welcome to the fourth issue of the Help Project newsletter.

It's been another busy month in the world of Wikipedia help. The results from the in-person usability tests conducted as part of the help pages fellowship have been released. There are no great surprises here, the tests confirmed that people have trouble with the existing help system, and people looking for help on the same topic often end up at wildly different pages. Editors who experienced a tutorial and/or edited a sandbox as part of their learning were noticeably more confident when editing a real article.

Drawing on that, three new "Introduction to" tutorials for new users have been created: referencing, uploading images and navigating Wikipedia. These join the popular existing introductions to policies and guidelines and talk pages. Feel free to edit them, but please do remember that the idea is to keep them simple and as free from extraneous details as possible. All three have been added to Help:Getting started, which is intended to be the new focal point for new editors, and will also be seeing a redesign soon.

In other news, the Article Feedback Tool (AFT) can now be used to collect feedback on help pages. By default it has been deployed to all pages in the Help: namespace. It can be disabled on any page by adding Category:Article Feedback Blacklist, or enabled for pages in other namespaces by adding Category:Article Feedback 5 Additional Articles. Once a page has AFT applied, you can add feedback using the form which appears at the bottom of it. Feedback can be reviewed by clicking "View feedback" in the sidebar, or the "Feedback from my watched pages" link at the top of your watchlist.

I'm now entering the final month of my fellowship, and will be focusing my efforts on making much needed improvements to Help:Contents, the main entrance point to our help system. It's been a pleasure working as a fellow, and I just want to thank all the people who have helped me or offered advice over the past months. That definitely won't be the end of my involvement in the Help Project though, I'll be sticking around as a volunteer and continuing to write this newsletter.

Any comments or suggestions for future issues are welcome at Wikipedia:Help Project/Newsletter. If you don't wish to receive this newsletter on your talk page in future then just edit the participants page and add "no newsletter" next to your name.

Page Curation update

Hey all :). We've just deployed another set of features for Page Curation. They include flyouts from the icons in Special:NewPagesFeed, showing who reviewed an article and when, a listing of this in the "info" flyout, and a general re-jigging of the info flyout - we've also fixed the weird bug with page_titles_having_underscores_instead_of_spaces in messages sent to talkpages, and introduced CSD logging! As always, these features will need some work - but any feedback would be most welcome.

Greetings!

Grant Harrold

Hi Hope you're well. Just had a look at Companies House, and on Nicholas Veitch Limited, and as such have relisted Grant Harrold as a Director which is his official title.

Many thanks for your help with this Shell1973 (talk) 13:48, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Monte dei Paschi di Siena

Hello Ukexpat, Thank you for your valuable contribution about the article Monte dei Paschi di Siena. You could still help me in optimizing English syntax. I still have to expand some sections of the article in question. Sometimes I make mistakes in translation. Thanks Robyc73 (talk) 00:13, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

No problem, I am happy to help. The article is on my watchlist so I can keep an eye on it. Please do not hesitate to ask if there is anything specific that I can help you with.--ukexpat (talk) 01:14, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Idris Elba

My edits are not vandalism. English is an ethnic group, not a nation. You do not magically become English by being born in England and do not stop being English by being born outside of it. That is why pages like "Anglo-African, English Argentine and English American" exist. Stop reverting my edits. Elba is a British actor and a British citizen, he is not part of the English ethnic group. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.189.66.149 (talk) 18:41, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Sorry but that is complete and utter nonsense. Someone born in England is English, it's as simple as that.--ukexpat (talk) 18:55, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello. You nominated this article for speedy deletion back in 2008. The template was removed, but I think that was only because it was the wrong type of speedy deletion tag, and not because it was notable. 5 years later, it is still tagged for notability. Could you look it over, and if you are still concerned, consider taking it to the Notability Noticeboard, prod or AfD? Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 13:38, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for this on "&". Of course. If you didn't and would like to look at the Talk on "clean-up" re: that section, another view'd be welcome. If not and the ampersand's all you found I'll consider it a compliment (open to being disabused, but ...). I misread your name first as "unexpat" ... and liked it ... without figuring out why. Still haven't, still like it (for time being at least). Cheers. (Like the "edited by anyone", too; in short, nice to make your acquaintance; and of course like "Uk-" even more.) Thanks for tagging this article for notability back in 2008. You also nominated it for speedy deletion and prodded it, which was removed by the creator. It's still tagged; you may want to take it to the Notability noticeboard or AfD to get it resolved. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 20:11, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

so we are good to go?

Deleted images

Hi Ukexpat, I had asked for help on my article for creation and see that you just deleted my images and left no discussion on the talk page as to why. I am new to wiki as I stated and need to understand and some help. Thanks The Hal Apeno (talk) 23:07, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

I tagged them for deletion at Commons as they are copyright violations from http://doggonesauce.com/ .--ukexpat (talk) 01:10, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
What mades them copyright violations? They are Free Content. The Hal Apeno (talk) 02:02, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
There is nothing at the website to indicate that they are "free content" so we have to assume that they are copyrighted. If the company is prepared to license them in a way that is compatible with Commons (see WP:CONSENT for details) they can be undeleted. If not, the logo could be uploaded to Wikipedia (not Commons) per the non-free content criteria but the other image cannot.--ukexpat (talk) 02:35, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation, I seem to be learning something constantly on wiki. The code writing at first was a challenge but that was minor compared to the guidelines. I will get the permissions taken care of on the photos before publishing again. Did you see anything wrong with the article itself? I know it's a stub but I will work on it and ask for peer review once I can get it migrated. Thanks The Hal Apeno (talk) 03:25, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Did you intend to blank the draft at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Dog-gone Sauce?--ukexpat (talk) 04:14, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
That was the talk andit was a duplicate. DoI need to putit back up? The Hal Apeno (talk) 12:57, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Is the text somewhere else too? Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation is the usual place for AFC drafts to be created.--ukexpat (talk) 14:25, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

It is on the project page. I had submitted it once and it moved it to the talk page and when I resubmitted it this time it went on the project page. I just copied the submission part to the copy page. Does it show up now? The Hal Apeno (talk) 14:50, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Yes it's in the correct place at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Dog-gone Sauce. If it's in too many places, reviewers will not know which one to review!--ukexpat (talk) 14:54, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
