Infobox Mandir[edit]

See User talk:Plastikspork. I am aware of this. The infoboxes needed updating now asap with the new parameters. I've tweaked it so it won't affect the current infoboxes. But they will need updating with the new parameters and details. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:59, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll update Sri Ruthra Kaliamman Temple shortly with a pin map of Singapore. Once that is done you can copy my example. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:27, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sri Sivan Temple[edit]

All good; the City Council link is a bit useless, since it just refers to the idea of a city council in general. I'd suggest removing that. Ironholds (talk) 04:59, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template move[edit]

Hi, As you recently moved many templates per name convention, I would like to tell you that Template moving is not similar to moving of articles. I request you to move the templates carefully as after a template is moved, the edit link of the template in the article in which it is present, points to the old name of the template unless you change it to its new name. Also be sure to move even the documentation (if present) of the template along with the template. -- WorLD8115(TalK) 19:18, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have changed the background of the groupstyle in the Template:Hindu temples in Andhra Pradesh. The district which you are suggesting to remove from the template is necessary as just mentioning Nellore may mean Nellore city. Or, the title of the template can be changed to Hindu temples in Andhra Pradesh by district without mentioning district for each and every entry. But, I think it is alright mentioning district. -- WorLD8115(TalK) 14:58, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As you mentioned I have changed the district links. I would say that it is similar to other Hinduism-related state temples in India but I still feel that unless the district is mentioned people think the respective city consists of the mentioned temples. -- WorLD8115(TalK) 15:24, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the space is increased and gives a good link to the template. Further, the template consists of several links to religious towns which can be replaced by the respective temples once the article is created and also red links have to be avoided. And is Nellore district officially renamed to Sri Amarajeevi Potti Sri Ramulu Nellore district. I strongly disapprove of this as India is blessed with several great leaders and freedom fighters, but we cannot rename the place they were born after them. Towns, districts etc. have to be named based on the Geography Ex:West Godavari district (location West named after River Godavari) and Madhya Pradesh (centrally located)-- WorLD8115(TalK) 15:42, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't mean not to add red links. I said red links have to be avoided as excess of red links do not look good. And, I constantly edit the List of Hindu temples in India article and as the article is too lengthy, I edit it state wise. I have cleaned up the Rajathan, West Bengal, Uttarkhand etc. and it is a work in progress. By the way good work on the temple articles you created.-- WorLD8115(TalK) 16:05, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of Hindu temples in India[edit]

I already edit the article removing excess red links, redirects, etc. See the sections of Assam, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. I thought it would be a good idea to list them by district. I edit the article state wise and after the whole article gets completed the article can be alphabetically sorted per WP:LIST. The Tamil Nadu and Goa sections are huge and you could help by arranging them. --WorLD8115(TalK) 16:13, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think I don't understand your justification. I moved the page to where I did because that's the way every source I found formatted the name. If you have a good reason, by all means move it, but I'm unsure of why you would at this point. -RunningOnBrains(talk) 16:09, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Temple articles[edit]

Hi, you have been moving temple articles from a title of "XXX Temple" to "XXX temple". The correct format per external sources and WP:MOS is "XXX Temples" as all parts of a proper noun ought to be capitalized. Can you please move back all the articles to the original titles and cease moving any more. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 14:12, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thaejas, following the discussion at WT:HNB could you withdraw your move request for the Lokanarkavu Temple article ? Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 15:07, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kunnuvarankottai Kasi Visalakshi-Visvanatha temple[edit]

I would like to know how to remove this tag. Pls help. The suggestions link is not working.. I have added the link in Dindiul district wiki page. Thanks Kbala1055 (talk) 09:25, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pls refer to the rule for orphaning - This has 2 or 3 links already incoming. Pls remove the tag or I will remove it

Currently our priority is to focus on orphans with NO incoming links at all, and it is recommended to only place the

tag if the article has ZERO incoming links from other articles. One or two incoming links may be sufficient as long as they're relevant.

Kbala1055 (talk) 09:32, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi KBala, You can remove the tag if the article meets the criteria for de-orphan pages. Pls refer to the Wikipedia:Orphan#Various_ways_to_de-orphan for more details.—Thaejas (talk) 09:35, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned above there are 2 or 3 incoming links for this wiki page as follows: Batlagundu Dindigul District Kasi Visvanthar temple. This tag is only for ZERO incoming links. So I am removing the tag. Kbala1055 (talk) 09:46, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Hindu temples in Kerala[edit]

Hello! I saw that you added Template:Hindu temples in Kerala to several articles. There are too many red links in the template. Such a exhaustive list is not necessary as the main purpose of a template is for easy navigation between various articles. I suggest you remove all the red links from the template as it is currently a very large template and is very difficult for easy navigation.-- WorLD8115(TalK) 12:12, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thanks. I am aware of this. I am working on it. Thaejas (talk) 12:13, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Templates[edit]

Hi, I came across the Category:Hindu temples in India templates and I think that Template:Hindu temples in Chandigarh, Template:Hindu temples in Sikkim and Template:Hindu temples in Arunachal Pradesh are totally unnnecessary. It is not necessary to create the template for each and every state and territory of India. Perhaps, if there are atleast 4 to 5 articles of the temples of the state, the template can be created as Wikipedia does not entertain templates with just two or three articles. I request you empty the content of the Template:Hindu temples in Chandigarh, Template:Hindu temples in Sikkim and Template:Hindu temples in Arunachal Pradesh so that they can be deleted under WP:CSD#G7. Thanks-- WorLD8115 (TalK) 13:00, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

Reverted edit[edit]

Hello World8115,

Hope you can guide me on this, I am new to wikipedia editing, please let me know if I have done some thing not appropriate and guide me the right way. recently I have editied "External Links" section of "Rama" to add links to "Sri Rama Raksha Stotram" and "Hanuman" which I thought relevent to the site, but they are removed by you. Can you please suggest what I have done wrong and why they are removed. Thank You.

Regards, VeeraHanuman

Coords[edit]

Thanks for adding coords. I think it would be better if the coords were added into the infobox with display=inline, title. It would also help if the coord-missing was removed. Don't you think? --Muhandes (talk) 17:28, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chief Ministers' pics[edit]

Hi, I actually did explain my revert here. The reason I didn't add a separate column of portraits (I'm the one who's greatly improved these, by the way; previously they looked like this and [) is that

  1. there are often so few pictures that it looks bad to have a separate column for just two images, while some twenty are empty. In other words, a separate portrait column only works for articles like List of current Indian chief ministers (which I also rebuilt from scratch and took to featured-list status, by the way) but not List of current Indian chief governors.
  2. those images that are there are not free images, and we shouldn't be using non-free images in list articles. For eg: the Gulzarilal Nanda pics you added to the PMs list.
  3. Further, even many of the supposedly "free" images are clearly there with a wrong licence. They will be deleted in due course. For eg: the Goa CM Wilfred d'Souza.

I am thus reverting or modifying the changes you made to these articles, especially when they go against the points mentioned above. Further, I urge you to respect the spirit of WP:BRD to not revert my reversions, and engage in an edit war.—indopug (talk) 04:10, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing, you said that you wanted to "maintain a similar format" in these articles. However, that is simply not feasible. Why? Because reliable information available for the different states' CMs is vastly different. For eg: the Karnataka govt has provided extensive information regarding their assembly, thus there is a relevant column in that article. Few other articles have this information because it is simply not available. Similarly, just because one article needed a column for portraits, that doesn't we should add one for every article.—indopug (talk) 04:53, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, When I meant similar format, I mean, having the same columns that are available for such Lists. I know, the portraits are or might not be available for some of the persons. But wherever feasible, it should be consistent. Creating a column for portrait will render the usage of images on the side redundant and will make the list article more featured content. Obviosuly, you wouldn't want to put many images on the side of the article - Thaejas (talk) 05:19, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If there were too many images to fit in the side of an article, we'll create a portrait column in the table of that article. (and have no images in the sides; like List of current Indian chief ministers) Otherwise we'll just have huge empty spaces in the tables. That doesn't look very good and it encourages people to add non-free images to fill-in the gaps, which is also undesirable and against our rules.—indopug (talk) 05:27, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's precisely my purpose of adding the portrait column that you have removed as in the List of Chief Ministers of Jammu and Kashmir, List of Chief Ministers of Jharkhand, etc. Hope you have understood and pls don't repeat my statements. - Thaejas (talk) 05:36, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No I don't understand. What is the purpose of adding a portrait column when there are barely any free photographs?—indopug (talk) 13:51, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As a stylistic point, it's also quite useful to have a wide column of free text and to embed images within this. If the images use CSS float to position themselves to one side, the text can flow around them quite nicely. This doesn't require a dedicated column and it falls back nicely when some rows don't have an image available. Look at Rolling_stock_of_the_Kent_&_East_Sussex_Railway_(heritage)#Steam_locomotives for an example. The code to use is [[File:KESR No 3 Bodiam.JPG|150px|right]] and place the image before the text. 150px is OK, but you can use bigger if you wish. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:40, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Information technology consulting firms of Netherlands requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion".
