As long as it's linked (which it is), I think that article is short enough that people can click in and click back without any issue. As to completeness: Color needs a key, and I think that there should be a bluish shade for the NL so it doesn't look like we're showing favoritism to one league. Do you want me to copy-edit the lead before you nom it? I think more images would be great too; I'm sure that there are more team images of winners with presidents and such, and I know there's an image in the 2009 WS article of the Yankees' on-field celebration after Game 6 this year. In the "appearances by franchise" table, the "AL/NL" doesn't need to be small, but it does need a footnote explaining the league switch (there is one, with a ref, in one of my FLs somewhere). Hi, and happy new year. Let me explain my reversions, because I don't think there's any inherent conflict in aims. (1) The reason my colors were so subdued was an attempt to appease KV5 (Killer Vogel) who wanted no color at all (partly, I think, through a misreading of Wikipedia:Accessibility). Originally I'd used the color scheme I've used for World Series and Major League Baseball, based on the traditional red for American League and blue for NL, with variations for the expansion teams (bgcolor=pink or lightblue for the original 16; ffbbdd or aaccff for the expansion teams). But see Talk:List of World Series winners for Killer's objections. (2) Those pictures cover up the table on my browser, so they had to be adjusted somehow. Now I've seen your exchange with Killer, let me say that I had also proposed your preferred solution, especially when the National League column went all the way back to 1876 with other challengers (like the AA). The added advantage is that one could see and sort the record of (say) the Phillies or a single-league manager like Connie Mack in one column that included both winning and losing years. The difficulty seemed to be how to highlight the winners in a way that satisfied the WP:Manual of Style (which is far more important to Killer since he wants to make this a WP:Featured List, than to me, who's spent far too much time on Talk:MOS) and Accessibility to different systems and pairs of eyes, which is important to me. Well, I worked for a while, but I couldn't get it quite like I wanted it. The right solution will probably involve a low or band pass filter. I haven't worked too much with audio restoration, but the trick is figuring out over what frequency range the noise is, then filtering that out. I may try some more in the coming week. We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. We've had some shakeups regarding late entries, flag changes and early dropouts, but the competition is now established- there will be no more flag changes or new competitors. Congratulations to Sasata (submissions), our current leader, who, at the time of writing, has more listed points than Hunter Kahn (submissions) and TonyTheTiger (submissions) (second and third place respectively) combined. Stax, obviously you know more about this than I do. I feel that this image that I just cropped from a larger PD source has great potential as a featured picture. Unfortunately, I know nothing about the FP process, and I don't know which imperfections in the picture would need to be corrected. I was hoping you might be able to offer me a little direction or guidance. I have Photoshop CS4 at work and CS at home, so I have the tools. I'm just not sure how to go forward from here. A couple of questions are when and where it was taken. It says 1911. That's possible, though not definitive. Alex was with the Phillies 1911-17, and the uniform did not change much during that stretch. Home uniforms and caps were white, road uniforms and caps were gray, both with a red P on the cap, with the road shirt featuring a red P all those years and the home all but one. And Okkonen's book doesn't indicate anything about the sweater. So we kinda have to go by the photo source. As to where, it looks a little like Baker Bowl's bleachers, but not quite. Assuming it's a National League park, the other 7 possibilities are: Boston (no), Brooklyn (maybe), Chicago (no), Cincinnati (no), New York (no), Pittsburgh (no), St. Louis (no). Oddly enough, it also looks a little like Cleveland.
