A tag has been placed on User:Projectevolve, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. re Project Evolve and copyright[edit]

Hi User:Projectevolve - I'm the administrator who deleted the first version of your page on Project Evolve. Thank you for uploading a new page; as you are the web admin of that site, I wanted to explain a bit further about the copyright issue.

The reason the page was deleted was because it matched the UEA page which says that UEA has copyright on the content. Obviously Wikipedia is quite strict about copyright; however we can accept donated copyright material. Donating material allows Wikipedia to publish and edit it, but also allows anyone else to do the same thing. If you are interested in donating copyrighted material, there is more information here. As an alternative to donation, many editors will re-write material in their own words, using reliable sources to back up the facts in an article. I'm guessing the new article you have uploaded is written in this way? Assuming that is the case, I have removed the tag requesting speedy deletion for copyright violation, and the corresponding {{hangon}} tag, which is no longer necessary. This doesn't guarantee that the article won't be deleted, but that was the most immediate concern.

The next thing to look at is finding some independent, reliable sources that cover the project. I have had a look for some, but unfortunately my usual news database is down at the moment. If you're aware of any, for example, newspaper or journal articles, it would be great if you could add them to the article to show how the project is notable. Lack of notability is a common reason for deletion. You can find information on how to add sources at Citing sources.

Since the article is in user space at the moment, there is some latitude regarding some of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Articles in user space can be improved and then moved to the main encyclopedia. I hope you don't mind, but I have edit the article slightly so it is closer to the usual Wikipedia format. I think it still needs some more sources before it could be moved to the main encyclopedia.

The final thing I wanted to mention (apologies for the length of this, by the way!) is your username. Specifically, we have a policy against editors using names of groups. I left you a note about this above, but I wanted to mention it again. Please would you consider changing your name so that it complies with our policy? You can either go through the process of changing your username or simply stop using this one and start using another. You can ask that your draft of the Project Evolve article be moved to your new user space. We also have a guide for users who edit articles when they are associated with the subject, which might be useful to you.

Sorry again for making this so long; I hope some of it is helpful! If there's anything I can assist you with, you can contact me on my talk page, or you can ask questions at the Help Desk. --Kateshortforbob talk 14:14, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This account, Projectevolve, has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because your username does not meet our username policy. This block is only regarding your username—it is not a judgment of either you personally or your contributions.

Names should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, misleading, or related to a "real-world" group or organization. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

Please choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. However, do not create a new account if you wish to credit your existing contributions to a new name through a username change. To request a username change:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to edit this talk page even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a list of names that have already been taken. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Cirt (talk) 06:41, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Projectevolve, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
