I normally wouldn't request a favor like this, but I feel very strongly that there are Wikipedia articles where information is being serverly compromised to push an anti-soy bean/soy protein agenda - and it's all being perpetrated by one user. Not to drag you back to a week or so ago, but Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Mattisse confirmed that User:Xampt is a sockpuppet of Mattisse. So just 6 days before this whole controversy with Mattisse removing the sockpuppet tag, Mattisse was using sockpuppets. I'm not sure what should be done from here with this. Would it be possible to jus remove this article from wikipedia until a completley neutral article can be made. As i looked at the references of the current article the majority of them are from papers of authors who don't like sant bhinderanwale. In addition, rather then providing false info to wikipedia users it would be better to provide no information at all. I used Vandal Proof for a few months, and I thought it was an excellent and useful tool for fighting vandalism. However, I stopped using it after I started using Lupin's Anti-Vandal tool, which works in-browser and basically makes the whole process easier. Also, it does not drain your computer's memory as much as VandalProof did (VP is a separate application though). Lupin's Anti-Vandal Tool works in your monobook, and it works much faster than VandalProof did for me. P.S. Thanks for helping get Nishkid69 blocked. Hi. You deleted the article for Air Traffic under CSD G4 and CSD A7. As I explained to another admin, G4 seems to apply only if the article is the same as what was previously deleted, which is not true for this case.

As for A7, the band may up and comming, but they have achieved national airplay on at least 2 large stations and have been on a national tour. They have also been featured in many reputable newspapers and magazines. All of these are criteria listed on WP:BAND.

What happened was, that the editor moved Octoberfest to the random letters article. He then edited it to redirect to German festival, which was a speedyable article (making the redirect speedyable under either R1 or R2, and already R3). This request is as described in detail on Talk:Walden Three and User talk:Morton devonshire#Walden Three: basically, the article was deleted in an AfD, however the subject of the article became a section in the article of its founder, James W. Walter, which survived a later AfD. I'd like to make the W3 article a redirect to James W. Walter#Walden Three, as it is a reasonable search term. Is it alright for name calling in edit summaries? I would hope not, I've seen it a bit by TJ Spyke. [[8]]. You might have to scroll and view a few pages on it. He only does it every so often. I simply was tired of it, and asked him to stop with it on his talk page. He didn't reply, and since then he has continued to call people "trolls" in edit summaries. Not a direct personal attack, but it's still an attack in my opinion. A simple edit summary of revert or vandalism can do the job, name calling simply shouldn't be done. Why would you delete that? Why would you call it an experiment? Why don't you think people would want to know there are no bathrooms there? The bathrooms have been there in the past. I don't really visit RSC often, as many of the older users have moved on. I don't play Runescape, although I log onto my accounts every month or so in order to keep them from getting deleted (the nostalgia value is pretty heavy, I guess). I got really into Wikipedia in the past few months. Might as well your main online haunt as a place that is actually useful to you and beneficial to the world as a whole. I'm also a regular contributor on places like Fark and Rooster Teeth.

I deleted the article under CSD A7 as I believed it was not a very notable family. I still do think the family itself is not notable in a more general respect, but if you disagree, I would appreciate if you could provide me with some references as to why the family is notable. The France-Hayhurst's were one of the major landowning families in mid-Cheshire from the late 18th century until the middle of the twentieth century (see for example http://archive.thisischeshire.co.uk/2003/7/9/168776.html and http://www2.valeroyal.gov.uk/internet/vr.nsf/0/C3845BE12FD7B0B28025715E004B3D13/$file/bostock.pdf, which were linked to in the original article). In the mid-nineteenth century the France-Hayhurst's were responsible for the redevelopment of Bostock Green (a model village like Bournville or Port Sunlight, although on a smaller scale). Again, this information was included in the original stub article. The France-Hayhurst's were so intertwined with the history of the area that it is extremly difficult to write a comprehensive history of the area without refering to them (for example vicar of St. Michael and All Angels, Middlewich, dedication of Middlewich cenotaph, foundation stones of many local schools and civic buildings). The notability outside of Cheshire is irrelevant, under Wikipedia:Notability (people) allows for "Major local political figures who receive (or received) significant press coverage", and also "100 year test (future speculation) -- In 100 years time will anyone without a direct connection to the individual find the article useful?". In addition to the significant quantity of newspaper articles written about the France-Hayhursts (the most recent in 2003) I can point to at least two books published within the past 30 years which discuss members of the France-Hayhurst family who had died 100 years previously. Also your 'google test' doesn't work, since (1) the internet is relatively poor with information pre-1990, and (2) the family gave their name to significant numbers of local structures, but under the name "Hayhurst" (which has 517,000 hits). The article "Tristan Pack" is fictional, there is no support to back it up, and I know Tristan Pack in person- he attends my school as does the creator of the article Jacob Northam. The article was deleted under CSD G4 which says that an article that was voted to be deleted under an XfD can be speedy deleted if it is recreated. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Toobeez. Even as I look at the article now, it appears that Toobeez is not notable at all, and doesn't merit an article on Wikipedia. Hey Nish, I need a bit of advice. I'm considering bringing a minor problem before the mediation committee, but I came here first to see if it was a wise decision or whether you can solve it.

The Barnstar page on Wikipedia is currently the place of an edit war. Normally, there is a link at the top that directs users to the Wikipedia:Barnstars page. However, some users have been deleting it (and, I might note, pissing me off greatly, as it's a pain in the butt to find the Wikipedia version of the article) every time it comes up per the Wikipedia Self-Avoidance policy.

Not sure if I should file a claim with the Mediation committee, which could take months, or just ignore it.

I left originally to go see Borat. However, just after I left the house, my friends told me that the film was sold out. I was shocked, as were were seeing the 5:40PM show and it was only 5:03PM. The vandals sockpuppet accounts have not all been banned from editing. Please check the block logs on his suspected sock puppet page, at the very least, they could be banned as all vandalism accounts, although it's blantantly obvious that they are the same person. If any admin has passed incivil-indecent comment providing intralink, can he remove this intralink of his own without leaving a trai for an editor to find out? or it could be removed by someone higher up?

Sorry for my delayed response. I forgot to put my status as "Offline". Anyway, in regards to your question, you can find out if a person is an administrator usually by taking a look at their userpage. They usually have a userbox or some text that states they are admin. There some admins who don't do this, so the next thing to do is to go the user contributions and check out their logs. If they have deleted, blocked, or protected anything, then you know they are an admin.

An admin can't really "hide" their edits from other normal editors, but they can delete selected edits. I don't think an admin could remove an "intralink" without having some trail left behind. Nishkid64 18:28, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!) Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach. Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins. What's New? The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one! The last AC meeting (full log) The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived. There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia. The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested! In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias. A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted! Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Any comment on this unblock request? They're currently indeffed as vandalism-only, but seem to be pretty apologetic and desiring of a second chance.
