This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Charles P. Mason, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.pensapedia.com/wiki/C._P._Mason.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Vessel Class of the SLN new OPV built in India[edit]

What is the exact vessel class of the SLN new OPV built by GOA shipyard? Is it Samarth-class offshore patrol vessel or Saryu-class patrol vessel? Looks like it Saryu-class patrol vessel. What is your exact source for saying this Samarth-class offshore patrol vessel? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Randeepa (talk • contribs) 11:26, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Adhil Bakeer Markar[edit]

The article Adhil Bakeer Markar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Questionable notability - appears to fail WP:BIO - relatively minor achievements (note WP:NOTINHERITED)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dan arndt (talk) 03:51, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Adhil Bakeer Markar[edit]

I'm trying hard to determine how the subject of this article is notable. Apart from the newspaper articles about his death (see WP:NOTAMEMORIAL) is there anything that establishes his notability whilst he was still alive? (see WP:BIO) All I can see is a series of relatively minor achievements- none of which establishes notability. It would appear at face value that the only reason his death was newsworthy is because he is his father's son (see WP:NOTINHERITED). Are there any independent reliable sources apart from those related to his death that establish notability? Dan arndt (talk) 14:19, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on District Courts of Sri Lanka requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.helplinelaw.com/law/sri%20lanka/courts/courts.php. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:31, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka[edit]

Dear NaminiGunasena,

Thank you for your contributions to the Wikimedia Projects. As an editor from Sri Lanka, you are warmly invited to join the official Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka and to subscribe to its mailing list, Wikimedia-LK.

The user group currently includes volunteers from Wikipedia and other projects, from the English, Sinhala, and Tamil speaking communities. It is the Wikimedia-approved platform for editors from Sri Lanka to enable wider collaboration, for both online and offline projects.

With your support, we hope to organize cross-project content improvement drives as part of online projects, as well as organize in-person edit-a-thons, training sessions, photowalks, and other such activities, in the near future. The ultimate goal(s) of these initiatives is to improve the overall coverage and quality of topics relating to Sri Lanka, as well as encourage new editors to join the Wikimedia community, while simultaneously empowering and retaining our existing team of editors.

There are no mandatory obligations for members who choose join the community, other than the usual editing rules for online projects, and the friendly space policy for in-person projects. You may also (or instead) subscribe to the mailing list, where any member could initiate discussions with volunteers across projects, notify members of events and meetings, stay up to date with competitions, organize your own events, and so on.

See you on board, and Happy Editing!

Thanks for your recent edits to Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology. Although SLIIT was incorporated as a private company I believe all of the shares in the company are owned by the government. Is this your understanding? I have seen several documents where it is shown as a state-owned company (e.g. this classified SLIIT as a state-owned non-commercial enterprise). Therefore, should SLIIT be classified as a public or private university?--Obi2canibe (talk) 15:13, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That is a good question, its Private by registration but public in ownership. NaminiGunasena (talk) 08:40, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Irrespective of whether it's classified as private or public, I think the article ought to make it clear that the government owns it.--Obi2canibe (talk) 11:30, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
True, I will try to find references to this fact. It can be said to be autonomous. NaminiGunasena (talk) 15:42, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A question about Sri Lanka[edit]

Hi, I spotted you in category:Wikipedians in Sri Lanka and decided to ask a question. I see World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka article but is this all cultural heritage that is in Sri Lanka? In Ukraine we have monuments of different kinds that are protected as such on national or regional level, and Wikipedians made lists of them (in Wikipedia: namespace). Is there something like that for Sri Lanka? You know, if I go to Sri Lanka one dayI'd like to know what has to be pictured for Wikimedia Commons first of all Thanks! Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Notice

The article Chief Justice's House, Colombo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NBUILDING, requires significant coverage in multiple independent secondary sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello NaminiGunasena. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:NaminiGunasena. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=NaminiGunasena|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Blablubbs|talk 16:10, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Blablubbs, thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am in fact employed in IFS AB as a Cloud Engineer. I have recently edited the company article and created a page on its CEO. However, these were done voluntarily without any monitory compensation since it is outside my regular line of work. NaminiGunasena (talk) 08:56, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for being transparent, NaminiGunasena :). I'd still consider this a relatively clear case of a Conflict of Interest – could you review our relevant guidelines (which recommend, among other things, filing edit requests and submitting any articles through AfC) and place a COI declaration on your userpage? Thanks and best, Blablubbs|talk 10:05, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article Medamulana Walawwa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails to satisfy the requirements of WP:NBUILDING. The references are merely mentions in passing - the building is not automatically notable simply because it is the family residence of a notable politician.
