Revamping the list of fictional dogs page[edit]

After I have added much of the content for List of fictional dogs at several of its redirected links (such as dogs in comics), it seems to me that the host page could be cleaned up further. Although most of the subcomponents have been redirected to their own page, three other remain: Songs; Sports and Advertising; and Other fictional dogs. Those should be moved to their own page, leaving the host page with only the redirected links. Thus the Table of Contents box could be removed as it would be redundant.

This whole wiki editing to me is overwhelming... even though I have looked at the tutorials. So, if it is agreed that this change would be worthwhile, and since I am unwilling to do this myself for lack of confidence that I would do it correctly, would anybody else care to make the change? Hello, and thank you for your contribution to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to the List of fictional dogs article. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. Thank you! Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Name. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. General Ization Talk 17:52, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The difference is that it a) appears to be a blog, and b) appears to be YOUR blog (hence you need to stop adding links to it). General Ization Talk 20:10, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for October 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited New England Small College Athletic Conference, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Clinton, New York (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your Penny press edits[edit]

In your edit to Penny press last April, you copied content from somewhere on Wikipedia but did not copy over the references cited. Which article did you get the content from? Schazjmd (talk) 18:36, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I found it. To copy from one article to another, you must copy the source wikitext (not from the view displayed to readers) in order to retain formatting and references properly. Also, you must attribute the source of the content in your edit summary. You can learn more about that at WP:Copying within Wikipedia. Schazjmd (talk) 18:41, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sundayclose. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of Baptist colleges and universities in the United States, but you didn't provide a reliable source. April 2023[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Elizabeth Lail, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. All bio info at a WP:BLP must be sourced to a reliable source. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 16:14, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There are dozens of reliable sources for Lail's birth date. Also, Wikipedia does typically give a source for other celebrities birth date, such as Nicole Kidman's. You call for a source is utterly unreasonable. Jwegryn (talk) 18:49, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, they aren't "reliable". That's the point. Kidman's DOB is sourced to Los Angeles Times and Entertainment Weekly which are reliable soruces. A "Google search" is not a "reliable source". --IJBall (contribs • talk) 20:16, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did not say Google was a reliable source. But it certainly lists several, including IMDb and TMDB. What makes Lindsay Weinberg a reliable source for Lail? Rather than reject my entry, why not seek a reliable source on your own and make that page worth looking up? Jwegryn (talk) 13:11, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Reference (2) given for birth date on Elizabeth Lail page makes no mention of her birth date, so is an invalid reference. Jwegryn (talk) 18:52, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
