A tag has been placed on National Dope Testing Laboratory, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. KSFTC 18:00, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Let's reduce the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement![edit]

Hi Jn045, please allow me to get in touch with you because you have stated sympathy with environmental causes on your user page. I would like to invite you to check out the Environmental impact project page on Meta, where I am trying to create some momentum to reduce the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement. My first goal is to have all the Wikimedia servers run on renewable energy. Maybe you could show your support for this project as well? Thank you, --Gnom (talk) 15:16, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Gnom thanks! I went through your project page and found it interesting for me. I am willing to contribute whatever I could. However, I am based in India and the servers etc are located in USA. Is there any way out with which I can make some contribution to our project? --Jn045 (talk) 05:16, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jn045! One easy way to help is to put your name on the list at meta:Environmental impact#Show your support. --Gnom (talk) 08:47, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Jn045, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Bureau of Civil Aviation Security have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:19, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 21[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Athirampatty, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kailasanathar Temple. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Nitric Oxide[edit]

I reverted your addition to this page as the disambiguation you pointed to made absolutely no sense. Phagocytes do not have an array of medical equipment. It was a slightly different meaning.JSR (talk) 13:25, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi JSR, I made it in a good faith. And thanks for drawing my attention towards the same. I ran a check for the word and found it still disambiguated on the page. Since, you have an interest in the topic, I am looking forward for your help in fixing the same. - Jn045 (talk) 16:15, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I removed the disambiguation completely. It is probably not the clearest word, but I am not a biologist or even that interested. Webster does give the alternate meaning.JSR (talk) 16:29, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! JSR for your contribution. - Jn045 (talk) 16:35, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

An update from the Sustainability Initiative[edit]

Thank you for supporting the Sustainability Initiative!

Hi, Jn045! Thank you again for supporting the Sustainability Initiative, which aims at reducing the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement. Over the past two years, more than 200 Wikipedians from all over the world have come together to push the Wikimedia movement towards greater sustainability.

What's new?

We are writing you this message because there is great news: The Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation has finally passed a resolution stating that the Foundation is committed to seeking ways to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. Also, we have created a cool logo and found a nice name for the project which you can see on the right :-)

What's next?

Currently, we are working with Wikimedia Foundation staff to make sustainability a key priority for the selection of a new location for Wikimedia servers in Singapore. Also, we have presented the Wikimedia Foundation with a green energy roadmap to have all Wikimedia servers run on renewable energy by 2019.

Please help!

Let's keep this project moving forward – and there are several ways in which you can help:

  • Ask other Wikipedians to sign the project page as well – this way we can show the Wikimedia Foundation that this is an issue that the community really cares about.
  • Talk to Wikimedians you know about the importance of reducing the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement.
  • Improve and translate the project page on Meta.

If you have any questions, you can contact us on on Meta. Again, thank you very much for your support! --Aubrey and Gnom (talk) 09:40, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Edit (singular) was NOT reverted on List of Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science[edit]

Hi Pdfpdf, you recently reverted my edit on List of Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science. I thank you for the same, however, the manner in which the edit was made was unfair. I linked it with a disambiguation page so as to find a suitable user to fix the same and it was reasonably expected to do it by editing the said page. -Jn045 (talk) 15:14, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

you recently reverted my edit on List of Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science - No, I didn't revert your edit. Look harder. What I did is change Feldman to Feldmann. Pdfpdf (talk) 15:25, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Brother, I looked it precisely and found that the disambiguation is fixed & so I am thankful to you for the same. But the purpose of messaging you is different. You should use 'reverting good faith edits {user name}' in Edit Summary while reverting the edit when you know it is made in a good faith. It is a manner of good practice and boosts user's morale for contributing more to Wikipedia. I hope you understand my point. -Jn045 (talk) 15:43, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No, I don't understand. I did NOT revert your edit. I fixed the problem, and I said in the comment that I fixed it. I really do not understand most of what you are saying. Pdfpdf (talk) 15:48, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Confused[edit]

the manner in which the edit was made was unfair. - How was it "unfair". Please explain.
I linked it with a disambiguation page so as to find a suitable user to fix the same - Well, your edit worked. I fixed it.
and it was reasonably expected to do it by editing the said page. - I don't understand. do it - Do what? Pdfpdf (talk) 15:37, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@User:Pdfpdf While writing, the manner in which the edit was made was unfair, I was unaware of the fact (sortname template being broken). It was all unintentional. Will take care of it from the next time. Thanks! -Jn045 (talk) 05:37, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to the sortname template[edit]

Two of your recent edits have "broken" the sortname template. Please edit more carefully.
For example, you changed {{sortname|Marc |Feldman}} to {{sortname|Marc |Feldman|Marc Feldman{{dn|date=May 2017}}}}, which results in [[Marc Feldman[disambiguation needed]|Marc Feldman]]
One of the solutions that doesn't "break" the template is {{sortname|Marc |Feldman}}{{dn|date=May 2017}}}}
I thank you in advance for taking more care when editing. Pdfpdf (talk) 16:04, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Pdfpdf, As I said I fix disambiguation links and I do so with the help of https://dispenser.homenet.org/~dispenser/view/Dab_solver. I am totally unaware of the fact that the sortname template was broken because of the edit I made. I am thankful to you for inviting my attention towards the issue and I will surely take care of the same from the next time. -Jn045 (talk) 05:36, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ajinkya Rahane dablink[edit]

Finally got around into looking at it. It looks like database corruption. I filed a bug T166091. — Dispenser 21:12, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Dispenser, just keep me updated with what exactly happened to the bug you reported. I am new to this bug thing & hence wish to know the outcome -Jn045 (talk) 22:07, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The best way to following is by clicking "Subscribe" in the right-side action menu. English Wikipedia took 4 months to reimporting and already drifted when finished. I have no stake in replication drift as my tools need to be replication lag tolerant (and wont be following it). — Dispenser 01:07, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
