Welcome[edit]

Hello, Teenagelustband, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits to the page Live in New York City have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. As well, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 15:05, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello, I would like to request to be unblocked. If my username was one of the factors of being blocked for stspamming I will immediatly create a new one. I am just a fan of the band. I was unaware that I had written the article without the proper references and my intention was not for it to sound like it was a promotional page. it was my first attempt at writing a Wikipedia page. If unblocked I will rewrite the page with the proper references and make sure that it is a worthy addition to the Wikipedia site. Thank you Teenagelustband (talk) 21:59, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Request reason:

just want to write pages with correct sources. I understand my submission had led me to being banned and for that I am truly sorry I promise not to do anything like that again and I will be a worthy and valued contributor to Wikipedia

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Kuru (talk) 00:48, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Singularity42 (talk) 16:15, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Singularity42,

  • Yes I understand that wikipedia is an encyclopedia. In no way have I ever thought that it was a business directory.
  • I have read extensively the explanation of Conflict of Interest and understand all aspects.
  • Yes, the article that I had written was a draft that I had not yet referenced the various newspaper articles written about the band. They are notable as one of the first bands of the glam rock scene in the early 1970's.

I am a Archivist and Historian focused in the NYC Glam Rock scene of the early 1970's. I wish only to write articles of the bands that I have Studied and archived. I understand that my screenname has caused this conflict and that was not the intent. I used the screen name not taking into account its correlation to the band at the time of submission,. I wish to change that name so I can share all the knowledge that I've spent the last 10 years researching. I have researched about 6 bands of the nyc scene that are extremely noteworthy of inclusion including Teenage Lust.

Again I hope that my request above is approved and I can contribute the knowledge I have spent years aquiring to those wanting to learn. Teenagelustband (talk) 18:29, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Teenage Lust requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://teenagelustband.wix.com/teenagelustband2#!about. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —Anne Delong (talk) 22:27, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
