Removing interwiki links[edit]

Hi, may I ask why you removed interwiki links from the page Shahid? [1]

These were missing from the Wikidata page. Your edit drew my attention to this, and I have added them now.

Please use the edit summary to give an explanation when you remove part of an article. – Fayenatic London 08:39, 26 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fayenatic, Sorry, I didnt checked, whether they were missing from Wikidata. Thanks for the correction. -- Bodhisattwa (talk) 03:40, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks. I don't think you ever have to remove interwiki links; they get removed from pages by bots if they are held at Wikidata. – Fayenatic London 09:46, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for August 17[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ashoka, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tamil. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. could you please kindly explain ??[edit]

Dear mr , Bodhisattwa (talk) ,
you said "possible copyright violation" about my upload.

my statement : i am completely denying the antecedent .
1 st : according to wikimedia , i can upload content that has public domain or creative commons share alike 3.0 status/license . [2] [3]

2 ND: according to creativecommons.org & archive.org , THIS content HAS "Public Domain Dedication" ,& No Copyright .

3RD: IN 2 February 2012 Wikimedia Commons administrator , FunkMonk UPLOADED THIS FILE ,FROM THE SAME archive.org SOURCE
NOW, could you please kindly explain ??

your sincerely masum (talk)

The film I uploaded is PD because it is apparently owned by the US government. The other file seems a bit more suspicious. FunkMonk (talk) 22:41, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Ahm masum, The deletion request was in Commons, and not in English Wikipedia, so, it was better to question there. Anyway, answering to your question, BBC is the copyright holder of the said video. Archive.org is an online archive. Anyone can upload any file there and that does not mean that the uploader is the copyright holder, who has released the file into public domain. Unless BBC releases the file under public domain, it is always necessary to get a permission from them to upload in Commons and without that permission, it is definitely a copyright violation. I hope I have explained my stand clearly. Besides, the file which FunkMonk uploaded is definitely in PD, because it was uploaded by National Archives and falls under {{PD-USGov}}, so he has done the right thing. I agree with FunkMonk that whether the second file is in PD or not, should be checked before uploading in Commons. Thanks, -- Bodhisattwa (talk) 14:52, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hello Bodhisattwa. I saw your userbox that says you're from West Bengal. I have slightly bad news: most of the images in Bengal famine of 1943 are non-free (copyrighted). File:Bengal famine 1943.png and File:Distribution of Food among people in Bengal.jpg belong to Life magazine (the latter image even still has the watermark); File:Bengal famine 1943 photo.jpg belongs to Bill Gates. Since you're from West bengal, may I ask, do you know of any images that are in the Public Domain? I searched the govt archives of both India and the UK and found nothing (though I may not have known the best places to search)... Thanks...  Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 01:14, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted edits[edit]

I was quite surprised to note that you have reverted an edit by me on the Balutungi page. The edit/ edits you have reverted were not mine, possibly that of Raman Karmokar. Hi @Chandan Guha:, I think, you misunderstood. I have neither reverted your edits nor accused you of anything. I have only reverted the vandalism of Raman Karmokar. Please check again. Thanks. -- Bodhisattwa (talk) 17:33, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
