Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Da-her Lin, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please familiarise yourself with MOS:LEAD. Thank you for bringing this to my notice, @Prince of Erebor. I only tagged and added the citation needed template to that section because I felt the claim should at least be backed with one or two references.
Adding citations ensures the accuracy and reliability of the information presented, maintaining the integrity of the article.
I appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Best regards,   Afro 📢Talk! 17:40, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No. If a piece of information is already cited with sources in the body, it does not need to be cited in the lead. Everything mentioned in that article's lead is very clearly sourced in the body if you had actually taken a look.
This is one of the most basic principles of Wikipedia's Manual of Style. If you are not even aware of this, I do not think patrolling articles is currently within your competence, and you should not be doing it at this point. —Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 17:48, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Noted. As learning is a continuous process, I was preoccupied with other articles on different tabs I was working on, and I apologize for any oversight. I only added the template out of goodwill. @Prince of Erebor, once again, thank you for bringing this to my notice.
Best regards, Afro 📢Talk! 17:54, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your edit was made in good faith. However, with all due respect, I do not believe the lengthy body section could indeed be overseen, and it is more likely that you are not aware that a lead does not require duplicated citations. It would be very helpful for you to familiarise yourself with Wikipedia's Manual of Style before continuing to patrol articles. Otherwise, your contributions may not be substantive and could potentially require others to clean up. Cheers and happy editing! —Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 18:02, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Afrowriter, I have completely rewritten the whole article. Once again, I would advise you to please take a look at the current state of the article and learn from it. Familiarize yourself with MOS:FILM before continuing to pen film articles as well. It would be most beneficial to you as I do not believe other reviewers would have the patience to rewrite and clean up unsatisfactory drafts. Cheers and happy editing. —Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 17:33, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Losing Lerato, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Action.

(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 19:56, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please take care not to link to disambiguation pages: check that all your links go to the page you intended.
There is an easy way to avoid linking to disambiguation pages: if you go to "Preferences", "Gadgets", and look under "Appearance" you'll see "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange" towards the bottom of the section. Select that tickbox, and whenever you Preview a page you'll be able to see whether you've accidentally linked to a disambiguation page. PamD 12:41, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Louise Pryor: careless editing

[edit]

I have reverted your edit, because it included so many problems. You changed spelling within quotes, added an unnecessary comma between her degrees, changed the correct capitalisation of the IFoA, etc. Please edit more carefully, or not at all. Thanks. PamD 12:31, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

hello @Star Mississippi
The article in question meets Wikipedia's guidelines for notability, as it provides significant coverage from reliable sources, establishing the subject's relevance and impact. I am confident that it adheres to Wikipedia's standards for inclusion. However, I respect the collaborative nature of Wikipedia and believe it is best to allow other editors to review and discuss the article before making any decisions. Thank you for your consideration. Afro 📢Talk! 06:29, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think that's a great path forward. I have not reviewed the article and will not weigh in since I just fixed the broken nomination template. If you need anything from me @Afrowriter just let me know. Star Mississippi 12:59, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Star Mississippi can you help review the draft for Draft:NganùNganù ? It was submitted over a month ago, and I believe it is notable. Afro 📢Talk! 23:00, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I'm not the best as far as film notability, but pinging @Robert McClenon and @Timtrent, two fellow AfC reviewers, for their input. I'd say off the bat see if you can remove where you've used IMDB as a source. The YouTube link for the trailer is probably OK. Star Mississippi 00:14, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've accepted Nganù . Film reviews are straightforward. If the article or draft describes reviews of the film, it passes film notability. If there are no reviews listed, then the article has to be assessed against GNG, which is hard. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:26, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Robert McClenon@Star Mississippi 😃 would have added Review earlier i was kind of busy and more focused on other articles. Afro 📢Talk! 07:48, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

hello @LR.127 You can also remove the date of birth section if you feel it's not well-supported by reliable sources. Rather than declining a well-sourced article, consider focusing on her notable achievements and appearances in significant films, which clearly establish her notability.
