Welcome![edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Douglas Gracey, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 23:55, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have rolled back my reversion of your edit to Hamburg mark because Germany (which did not exist as a nation until 1871) may have used that mark as currency for a brief period of time. The article itself is brief and has no citations. It really should be expanded and have citations added. On the other hand, I realize that Germany may have used this, and perhaps other existing currencies for a short time until the unified country came into existence. Without citations in the article, your addition could be correct. Since it seems possible, I think I should not have reverted it in the absence of a definitive source confirming or refuting it. My change lasted only a few minutes so I trust it did not result in any problem. Donner60 (talk) 04:09, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
