Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom, as a new section, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) or "new section" on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.

Thank you!

A barnstar for you![edit]

Rollback granted[edit]

Hi ਰਵੀ ਸਹਿਗਲ. After reviewing your request, I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account for a period of 1 month. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Vanamonde (Talk) 23:04, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted the rollback rights for longer time! ਰਵੀ ਸਹਿਗਲ (talk) 05:00, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi ਰਵੀ_ਸਹਿਗਲ. Can you help me understand why you reverted this edit as a minor edit with the summary "Reverting vandalism or test edit"? Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 16:39, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Vanamonde93: would you please consider revoking rollback rights? This user demonstrated an inability to differentiate between vandalistic and good-faith changes in this edit, and they doubled and tripled down on it. Though these edits weren't rollbacks, they evidence an understanding far below that required for responsible use of the advanced permission. Their actual rollback use is also problematic (e.g. this edit). Let me know if you think this should be brought up at ANI for wider review. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 17:11, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
At first glance those edits are indeed concerning. I would like to give ਰਵੀ_ਸਹਿਗਲ a chance to explain themselves, and expect that they will do so before making further edits. I don't think this need go to ANI, as I was the granting administrator; if I pull it due to misuse, I'm not undoing any actions besides my own. Vanamonde (Talk) 17:30, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ਰਵੀ_ਸਹਿਗਲ, you may have missed this, but Vanamonde93 said they expect you to respond to these concerns before you continue editing. You seem to have continued without response (unless I missed an email or something). Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 22:19, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed rollback, given the continued non-response. Vanamonde (Talk) 22:47, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary Sanctions alert[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in pseudoscience and fringe science. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

October 2022[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Yoga, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Venkat TL (talk) 16:41, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Calling valid edits as vandalism is a personal attack. Please desist from this behavior. Venkat TL (talk) 16:44, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove maintenance templates without resolving the problem that the template refers to, as you did at Yoga, you may be blocked from editing. Venkat TL (talk) 16:52, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Yoga. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Venkat TL (talk) 16:52, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
