Introduction[edit]
This is my welcome message (although I may well change it from time to time) - but anyone is welcome to use it! It must be SUBSTituted or an error will be produced.
Usage[edit]

Optional variables[edit]
- article=<article name>
- will add especially what you did for <article name> to the message
- company=<non-blank>
- will add a message about the user name being against policy as it appears to be a company name, and how to request a username change
- contrib=<non-blank>
- will add It's great that you want to contribute to Wikipedia - the more constructive editors the better!
- del=<non-blank>
- will add even though it is being considered for deletion after the art message (nb no check is made for art being present)
- hd=<non-blank>
- will add Also, thank you for your message on the Help Desk.
- ip=<non-blank>
- will add You might want to register an account, which has many benefits, including the ability to create articles.
- irc=<non-blank>
- will add It was good talking to you on IRC.
- multi=<non-blank>
- will add a message about the user name being against policy as it appears to represent more than one person, and how to request a username change
- nc=<non-blank>
- will add Also, thank you for your message on the New Contributor's Help Page.
- phantomsteve=<non-blank>
- will add "- just click on talk in my signature" to the "Leave a message on my talk page" (for use by Phantomsteve, unless your signature uses the word "talk" as a wikilink to your talk page)
- new=<non-blank>
- will miss off Thank you for your contributions - also avoiding a link to the contributions. Designed to be used with one of "company"/"multi"/"offensive" for a new user with no contributions.
- offensive=<non-blank>
- will add a message about the user name being against policy as it appears to be an offensive name, and how to request a username change
- sig=<non-blank>
- will add Phantomsteve's signature (for bot use) - only for use by Phantomsteve
- student=<non-blank>
- will add the "student" parts of Template:Welcomestudent
- talk=<non-blank>
- will add Also, thank you for the message on my talk page.
