Further reading[edit]

I have moved here the full section: There are thousands of books on ADHD every year and many specifically in adult ADHD. There is no rationale for having them all in the article. Unless they are integrated in text or further indication of their notability (secondary sources) is found they should not be readded-

We should add more of the further reading resources to the main page. I think it would be helpful it other had the chance to look at those same resources and have them for their own use. EllysonBC (talk) 23:44, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The content of this article can be improved by using more recent sources. A majority of the cited sources were not published within the past 5 years, and there are references within the article to the DSM-IV, when the most current version now is the DSM-5-TR. Citing newer sources will enhance this article by including newer/more recent information that has been researched and published on this topic. Furthermore, the content can be enhanced to address this topic within the context of historically underrepresented populations. I would like to work on some of these changes/additions. —Medstud15 (talk) 16:50, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Below is a brief outline of my proposed changes to this article: (A more detailed outline can be found on User:Medstud15/Adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder/Bibliography)
• I have been working on finding updated/more recently published (within the last 5 years) secondary literature to support the general information already in this article; my current list of sources can be found on the page linked above
• I plan to make changes/additions to the general information, as needed, based on updated research
• I would like to rework the currently existing sections on Adult ADHD in Men and Women to include more relevant information, as it pertains to the adult population within each sex, with better citations (secondary literature vs primary literature (current sources))
• Lastly, depending on the availability of secondary literature on the topic, I would also like to add a subsection on ADHD in underrepresented minority (URM) populations; this may have to be rethought as a section addressing general barriers to accessing a diagnosis/treatment for ADHD if there is not sufficient information available on different URM groups Medstud15 (talk) 16:50, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
