@Park3r: I have changed the name of the article from 2017 South African listeriosis outbreak to the current one so that it would reflect better on the period of time that the illness happened on, and especially the ongoing-ness of the whole affair. If you object to this change or have a better name to suggest, hit me up and we can discuss the particulars. Acebulf (talk) 01:33, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Nixinova: I think this is quite uncontroversial. I approve of the change, which would be the article's second in a matter of hours, you can be bold and just do it, as I don't see it causing any problems. Acebulf (talk) 02:38, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved this as requested. Dekimasuよ! 07:08, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
By the 5th March 2018 it was announced that "white slime" imported from Brazil was believed to have been the cause of the contamination at the Enterprise facility in Polokwane.
Which cited this article as its source. It seems that BI's source was a food professor uninvolved with the investigation that conjectured that mechanically separated meat might be the source of the outbreak. A quick search on Google News shows that only 2 articles have made this claim, this one, and someone that cited it. It's a dubious claim to make, so I removed it.
I might very well turn out to be true, but unless it is independently verified, or officially announced, I think it's better to hold off on this one.
I think that is fair enough. It was also covered in the South African newspaper Business Report. Happy for it to be shelved until better verified.--Discott (talk) 09:29, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
