I haven't found any sources that give an alternative view, and there are no indications in that news article that it is meant to be commentary or satire. Wikipedia is built using reliable secondary sources such as newspapers, and the CBC is considered a good source. The statement stays unless you can prove it wrong. New Line: "Oosterhoff considers himself to be a "comprehensive conservative" Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page). and despite facing questions around his views on same-sex marriage, he has clearly stated he is "absolutely not"^[1] a homophobe.

Covid Pandemic Controversy

On Monday, October 26th, 2020 Oosterhoff posted pictures of himself and others breaking Covid19 containment rules while at Betty's Restuarant in Chippawa, ON. According to the Toronto Star, Oosterhoff and his party refused to follow the rules, despite the best efforts of the staff to enforce them. Although several medical organisation have called for MPP Oosterhoff to step down from his role in the government, Premier Doug Ford refused to punish him for his dangerous behaviour during a national health Crisis.^[1]

Protests against Women's rights

In May 2019, Oosterhoff publically expressed his desire to make abortion "unthinkable in our lifetime."^[2] The then 22-year-old, who still lived in his parents' basement. Left question period at Queen's Park early to attend the rally out front with fellow PC MPPs Chistina Mitas and Will Bouma. There pledge focused on forcing their religious sexual morality on others rather than any plan to increase sex education and access to contraceptives which would reduce the number of abortions procedure in the province. Premier Doug Ford refused to condemn Oosterhoff and his fellow MPPs attacks against women's access to abortions in Ontario.^[3]

Oosterhoff is no longer the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education. He is now the Parliamentary Assistant to the minister responsible for “red tape reduction”.
