Taleh Mahammad oghlu Ziyadov - currently serves as the Director-General of "Baku International Sea Trade Port"[1] CJSC, a position to which he was appointed on March 18, 2015, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Additionally, on December 8, 2021, he assumed the role of President of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation.[2]

Biography

Born in Baku in 1977, Taleh Ziyadov earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Beloit College in the United States in 2002. He furthered his academic pursuits with a Master's degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University (USA) and a Ph.D. from Cambridge University (UK) in political science and international studies.

Taleh Ziyadov is married and has three children.[3]

Activity

Throughout his career, Taleh Ziyadov has provided consultancy services on transportation and logistics to various local private and state-owned entities, including international institutions in Azerbaijan and Central Asia. He has also lectured extensively on these subjects.[4] Previously, from 2006 to 2007, he served as the Deputy Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Trade Representation in Washington, D.C. He later held positions as a scientific researcher and professor at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA), where he also served as an assistant to the Dean for Academic Affairs.[5]

Scientific activity

Dr. Ziyadov is the author of the book "Azerbaijan as a Regional Hub in Central Eurasia" (Baku: ADA, 2012), [6] offering a strategic analysis of Euro-Asian trade and transportation networks through Central Eurasia, envisioning Azerbaija n's development into a regional hub by 2030.[7] He has co-edited the book "Beyond the Resource Curse" (UPENN: 2012) and authored numerous scholarly papers focusing on transportation, logistics, and energy issues in the Caspian region and other resource-rich nations. His publications have appeared in esteemed journals and newspapers such as "Analysis of Current Events," "Central Asia-Caucasus Institute Analyst," "Eurasia Daily Monitor," "Turkish Policy Quarterly," "International Negotiation Journal," and "the Moscow Times."[8] In 2007, Dr. Ziyadov contributed a chapter titled "Azerbaijan's Role in the West-East and North-South Transport Corridors in Greater Central Asia" to the book "The New Silk Road: Transport and Trade in Greater Central Asia," published by Johns Hopkins University.
