Swargandharva Sudhir Phadke is an upcoming Indian Marathi-language musical biographical film based on Marathi Music director and Singer Sudhir Phadke. It is directed by Yogesh Deshpande and produced by ReDefine Productions, featuring Sunil Barve, Adish Vaidya, Sharad Ponkshe, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Sagar Bhimakar, Apoorva Modak, Avinash Narkar.[1]

Production[edit]
The film was officially announced on 25 July 2023 on the occasion of Phadke's birth anniversary at an event in the Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Memorial Hall in Mumbai. Former Governor of Uttar Pradesh Ram Naik was present as the Chief Guest.[4][3] Sunil Barve was confirmed for portraying the role of Babuji (Sudhir Phadke) and the young Babuji is playing by Adish Vaidya making his debut in Marathi cinema with the film.[5] Yogesh Deshpande said: "Portraying the life of a renowned figure on screen is indeed a challenging task, requiring thorough research. Sudhir Phadke, affectionately known as 'Babuji', holds a special place in the hearts of Maharashtra. With a deep desire to showcase his life, I embarked on a journey of gathering as much information as possible about him. Through meetings with those who knew him closely, I unearthed lesser-known aspects of his persona. The endeavor to depict his life on screen culminated in 'Swargandharva Sudhir Phadke,' a tribute not only to his musical prowess but also to the arduous journey behind his iconic songs."[1]
Release[edit]
The film teaser of the film was released on 21 January 2024,[6] second teaser was revealed on 11 March 2024, makers announced release date with this 1 minute 15 second long teaser.[7][8] The film is scheduled to be theatrically released on 1 May 2024, coinciding Maharashtra Day.[9]
