Starboy Records, also known as Starboy Entertainment, is a independent record label founded by Nigeria recording artist Wizkid in 2013, it also serves as the flagship of StarBoy Worldwide. Its services include music recording, distribution, and music publishing.[1][2][3] The label currently houses artists like Wizkid, and DJ Tunez It also houses producer Legendury Beatz . Artists formerly signed, include Maleek Berry, L.A.X , Efya, R2Bees, Mr Eazi , and Terri.[4][5]

History[edit]

On 05 March 2013, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (Wizkid) founded Starboy Entertainment, it was established following Wizkid's departure from, Empire Mates Entertainment a record label founded by Banky W and Tunde Demuren [6], In 2013, it began to operate under the name Starboy Music. the first album released by the label was Wizkid's sophomore 'Ayo'.[7]

In 2013 after the launch of the label, Wizkid revealed that he planned on signing new acts to the label. He signed Maleek Berry and Legendury Beatz to the label in 2013.[8]

In August 2013, Wizkid signed L.A.X as the first recording artist to his label, Starboy, In 2016, DJ Tunez, Efya, R2Bees, and Mr Eazi [9]were all signed to Starboy Music.[10][11] February 2018 the label also welcomed Terri to Starboy Entertainment.[12]

Terri's departure became known after his deal with Starboy Entertainment ended in April 2022. Throughout his tenure with the label, he released and promoted various singles, including: "Bia ","Ojoro" and Soco With Wizkid, Spotless, and Ceeza Milli, [13][14][15]
