Khomeini on OTD Feb 1

Hi, you wanted to feature Ruhollah Khomeini's return to Iran on Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/February 1 this year. However, if we do that, we won't be putting Iranian Revolution in for February 11 because we do not run multiple articles on the same topic very close to each other. Since this is the 40th anniversary of the revolution, I would think that the other article is more important this year, which means that I will take Khomeini's return out. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 09:19, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Howcheng:, You are right, the 40th anniversary of the revolution is a brilliant reason for nomination the Iranian Revolution on February 11 and putting out others in related.Saff V. (talk) 09:56, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about United States support for ISIS

Hello, Saff V.,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Icewhiz and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, United States support for ISIS should be deleted. Your comments are welcome over Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/United States support for ISIS .

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Icewhiz}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Scientific names

Thank you for the review of Rhycherus filamentosus at DYK. Please note that by convention, the scientific names of animals and plants are always written in italics. Look at Euryoryzomys emmonsae, a featured article, for example. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:24, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Please STOP. You are editing in one of the most volatile areas of the encyclopedia and I have precisely zero confidence that you have enough competency. Their's weird synthesis; weird language and what not. WBGconverse 14:15, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
