Jorge Remigio Pautasso (Rafaela, 13 of February of 1962) is a former Argentinian football player y assistant coach of the coach staff of the Selección Argentina who lead Gerardo Martino.

Soccer career

In his time of player, began his career in Primera División Club Atlético Newell's Old Boys in 1980, where he served as defender defensor, being the eleventh player with more games played in the history of the club with 282. There he obtained two professional titles of The maximum category of Argentine soccer fútbol argentino, the season 1987-88 (under the technical direction of José Yudica) and the Apertura 1990 (under the technical direction of Marcelo Bielsa), along with great referents of the rosarino club such as "El Tata" Martino, Roberto Sensini, Scoponi, among others. In the year 1988 participates in the team that leaves runner-up of the Copa Libertadores of America, where it loses the final vs National of Uruguay. Then, after remaining on the bench, he emigrated to Chilean football. In 1991 he was signed by the Club de Deportes Antofagasta. A year later, in 1992, he was a member of the Club de Deportes Temuco squad. In 1993 he is signed by Estudiantes de San Luis where he played only one year, Jorge returns to Rosario, to form part of the team of Central Córdoba, of the same city, in 1994. Finally finalizes its career there in the end of the 1994, to its 32 years.

As part of the Technical staff

After his retirement as a player, he returned again to the club that was born (Newell's Old Boys), but this time to manage the minor divisions, along with Jorge Theiler, and Jorge Bernardo Griffa was a general coordinator of the lower divitions. In 1995, debuting as part of a coaching staff, he lead the fourth division of Asociación Rosarina de Fútbol. From 1996, he directed the seventh, eighth and then ninth division of the Asociación de Fútbol Argentino. In 1998, e is called by his former teammate Gerardo Martino, along with Jorge Theiler, to participate in what would be the debut of "Tata" as coach in the Brown de Arrecifes.. From this moment on he always followed Martino. Soon they would happen to be part of the technical staff of Platense in 1999 and Instituto de Córdoba in the year 2000. Together with Martino, they would pass the Paraguayan League of Soccer, where in 2002 hey would be part of the Club Atlético Libertad would be champion in the Tournament Opening 2002, Torneo Clausura 2002, Torneo Apertura 2003 and Torneo Absoluto 2003. At the end of 2003 he was hired by Cerro Porteño, where he won the Apertura and Clausura 2004 tournaments. He returned to Argentina in 2005 to manage of Colón de Santa Fe and year later he would return Paraguay, to the Club Libertad, where they would win the Apertura and Clausura 2006 and reach the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores also in 2006. They would then manage the Selección de fútbol de Paraguay in 2007 and after qualifying in the South American qualifiers; That selection would classify first in the Group F of the World Cup 2010. Then it was eliminated by (the later champion) Spain, in the stage of quarters finals, being this the first time in the history of Paraguay to reach that position. In 2011, the Copa America runners-up are held, an edition that was held in Argentina, losing the final with Uruguay. In 2012, he accompanied Tata on his return to Newell's to play the Clausura 2012 Tournament, after rejecting an option to lead the Colombian soccer team and where they were champions of the 2013 Final Tournament. In that same season they reached the semifinal of the Copa Libertadores. In July 2013, he accompanied Tata Martino to F.C Barcelona as part of the coaching staff. On their arrival they managed to win the Spanish Super Cup by beating Atlético de Madrid. They lose the final of the Copa del Rey versus Real Madrid and are in second place in the league 2013/2014 behind Atletico Madrid. Between 2014 and 2016 he worked as a field assistant in the Argentine Soccer Team, being the direct assistant of Gerardo Martino. In the Copa America of 2015 (realized in Chile) loses in the end against the local in execution of penalties after tie 0 to 0. The following year in Copa America Centenario (in the United States) also lose by penalties with Chile after tie also 0 to 0.
