Hi Professor Vandegrift, my name is Nora. I am a senior International Relations and Religion double major and this is my first sociology class at Drake! I am interested to get more acquainted with youth studies as a discipline, and I'm excited to become more adept at working with Wikipedia. I think it will turn out to be a great life skill! Have a nice weekend. [[User:NSully83|NSully83]] ([[User talk:NSully83|talk]]) 19:12, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Introduction

Hello Professor Vandegrift! My name is Laura Schnabel. I am 24 years old, live in Winterset, work as a Lab Tech at Madison County Memorial Hospital full time, and my favorite color is purple. I recently got married in August, so my last name in everything will be changing to Hegtvedt soon. I hope that won't cause too much confusion. I am returning to Drake after four years off to finish my degree. That is the gist of my life right now! I hope to learn a lot in this class and look forward to getting to know everyone. Hope you have a great weekend! Lhegtvedt (talk) 22:32, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested articles

Hi Professor Vandegrift. I've started a page for suggested article projects for the Global Youth Studies class in your user space. The page is User:Prof.Vandegrift/Global Youth Studies. It could use some more red links in the 'articles to create' section and I'm sure that some of the 'articles to improve' aren't quite within the scope of the class. Feel free to use this or not and change anything you see fit. Gobōnobō + c 03:30, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Late upload on first assignment

"The differences became even more pronounced when difficulty of career progression was taken into account; among males who had less than a high school diploma and experienced difficulties starting their careers" Fact from Shanahan reading.

Added that to article on Higher education.

I want to research the juvenile youths system.

       -Youth detention center
-Youth incarceration in the United States

Hi there!

Hi Professor Vandegrift this is Hector and I am reaching out to introduce myself. I am a LPS major at Drake and I am a transfer student from DMACC Ankeny where I spent two years studying Criminal Justice. I decided to attend Drake due to how close it was to my home and the scholarships that were offered to me. I am excited to be in your class and look forward to the exciting projects ahead!Camotero2013 (talk) 00:17, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction

Hi Professor Vandegrift. I am Jalisa, one of your senior sociology students. I am writing you today not only to introduce myself but to also get more familiar with how Wikipedia works. I hope to establish a career working with children, so a class on Global Youth Studies should be interesting. I am looking forward to the rest of the semester.
