Metro system
Västerås is the fith biggest city in Sweden after Uppsala, Malmo, Gothenburg and Stockholm. I have projected a metro system with two lines (Lines 1 and 2), filming and photography allowed (no flash or additional light), no smoking (in the underground stations) and with a city loop: Line 1 southern loop would be shared with Line 2 southern loop:
* Port-anders-gata
* T-Centralen, connection to Vasteras Railway station
Line 1 northern loop (cross-platform interchange with Line 2 at Pilgatan)
* Pilgatan (interchange with line 2 via cross-platform interchange)
* Ostermalmstorg
* Huntvakerplan
* Fiskartorget
Line 2 southern loop (shares with Line 1 between T-Centralen and Port-Anders-Gata
* Vastra Ringvagen
* Stora Gatan
* T-Centralen, connection to Vasteras Railway station
* Port-anders-Gata
* Pilgatan (interchange with line 1 via cross-platform interchange)
* Koppelarbergsplan
Line 2 northern loop
* Engelbrektsplan
* Karlaplan
Colores of the line
Line 1 will be colored yellow while line 2 will be colored green
Line 1
Line 1 starts at Barkaro, in the outskirts of the city, continuing throw Enhagen. At Enhagenebacken they will be two stations: Enhagenebacken and Enhagenebacken Strand. Then it continues throw Enbacken and reaches the southwestern part of the city, Vastermalm. Vastermalm station is in a cutting. After leaving Vastermalm, it enters in the central line 1 tunnel, passing by Vasteras Strand, which serves the beach of Vasteras, rock-station and decorated with rainbow colors. After it goes throw Eriksgatan and Strandbron and it reaches the sharing of line 2 junction. After the line 2 junction it has two services type. Via the northern loop, which comprends Fiskartorget, Huntvakerplan and Ostermalmstorg those stations have wide-platforms, like the Stockholm Metro red line central section and some outside on a separete branch. Fiskartorget is like Aspudden, Huntvakerplan is like Zinkensdamm and Ostermalmstorg is like Ostermalmstorg. After Ostermalmstorg, it reshares the line 2 and reaches Pilgatan, and it has a cross-platform interchange. The outer platforms are for line 1 and the inner platforms are for line 2. There is another junction, after and it rejoins the main line. Another service goes via the southern loop which is shered by line 2: T-Centralen which is connected to Västerås Central Station and Port-Anders-Gata. After there is junction split and runs mainline reaching the junction station, Malarhojden which has the same design as the stations in the City loop, and it's like Mälarhöjden. After 2 meters, the line splits to two branches: one leading to the Airport and onether one to the town of Irsta. Line 1 is the only metro system in the Nordic countries that has a direct airport service. On the airport branch, after when it exits the tunnel reaches Nottuden Strand.
. After this stop it re-enters in a short tunnel which is only 200m and it reaches Framnas, that it's on a cutting. After passing Hamre and Eskadergarden, it enters in the tunnel and finally reaches Stockholm Västerås Airport, underground station and named Flygplats. On the other branch (to Irsta), it runs under Malastrandsgatan and at the start of Stockholmsvagen it reaches Haga-Homdal. Then it goes throw Vargbogatan and reaches Malmaberg. At Malmaberg, the line turns onto Traddragargatan, and below the roundabout between Traddragargatan, Osterleden and Bjurhovdagaatn there is Osterledenplan station. Towards Tortunavagen, the tunnel finishes and it reaches Jarnalandsgatan.
After passing Halla Golfklubb it reaches Tibble, then it crosses the E18 road and in last two stops before the terminus, in Irsta, the first station is Asarnas vag, in the northwestern part of the town. Then it rund down Tyrgatan and it turns onto Irsta Stockholmsvag to reach the penultimate stop, Ullvi, in the southwestern part of the town. After Ullvi, it enters the central tunnel of Irsta. Below Ullvigatan there is the terminus of the line, Irsta, which is decorated like Farsta strand.

OpenStreetMap held a mapping party in this area on 13-15 October 2006 to make a creative commons licensed map that may be used in Wikipedia articles.

Thanks to all those wikipedians that took part.

See http://www.openstreetmap.org for details of other planned mapping parties.

Expanding

The swedish article is much bigger. Understandable, of course, but I am sure the english version could borrow a whole lot.

Removing notables

Taking these "notables" off the article page. If they get articles (which I doubt) they may be re added.

That's perfectly all right with me, I just didn't want to be blamed for censoring this information when redirecting a misguided new creation here. However, some of these definitely ought to have articles; in fact, I'm going to add Dagmar Lange (who published some 40 very popular mystery books under the alias Maria Lang) to List of Swedish language writers straight away. / Alarm 15:34, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
