Here is another player you prodded, clearly notable for having played internationally and for the highest professional level. With only a basic knowledge of reading Spanish, and zero interest in soccer, I was able to source it easily. What are you doing and why? Do you know something that I don't about this and the other player? [[User:Bearian|Bearian]] ([[User talk:Bearian|talk]]) 04:51, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Still about editing "Argentines of Italian descent" category

Sorry if I insist on this, but I just read your talk with SpikeToronto about my editing of Hernán Crespo article and want to explain something.

First of all, I can provide an external link referring to Crespo's Italian heritage, it's both it.footbo.com/Players/Hernan_Crespo and it.footbo.com/Players/Hernan_Crespo/Biography: in those pages they clearly state Crespo has got an Italian descent from the province of Cuneo, in the Italian region of Piemonte. So you can see I'm not making up any information, it's not just that Crespo's got an Italian sounding name: if it was just for that, I might add so many Argentine football players to the "Argentines of Italian descent" category (a lot of them have some Italian descent and their surnames prove that for sure) but I won't, that's no problem.

Anyway, if that's what it takes for Crespo, I will also add those external references within the article dedicated to him, so there won't be any more formal problems about it. I'd just want to know if I can add this info (Crespo's Italian descent) and the related references to it in the Discussion page of Hernán Crespo article, since I'm not sure where I could insert that information within the article itself (I think a Trivia section wouldn't be very appropriate in this case). Great work in addressing the indicated problems at DYK! I approved it for the Main page.
I have a question: Do you know if this action photo is in the public domain? Can it be used in the article or in the DYK entry? Binksternet (talk) 21:20, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello King of the North East! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 4 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 946 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Hi King. Do you chek the editors of certain pages before naming them hoaxes? You really think I would make a hoax? Listen, the player in question isn´t really a Maradona, and I think he didn´t get to play any league game for OFK Beograd in First League in Serbia, wich would automatically make him notable. I still need to chek it, but I´m not sure for other Argentine or Paraguayan clubs. Anyway, I remember when he arrived to Serbia together with Mario Berrios and another Colombian player, and all came out to be flops. I do remember anouncing specifically Suarez as young teams Argentine international, and as a promise, that obviously came to be unlike, since he end up playing in Spanish third division. I used those sources because the blog one was the best (photo included, and much of career) and the Transfermarkt, that was uncomplete, but desapired, and I didn´t knew it. It is hard to find sources for him since the google search gives me millions of hits. Anyway, I don´t mind if the page is deleted (he is a pretty mediocre footballer), but I am quite offended you thinking I would make a hoax here. FkpCascais (talk) 01:08, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanx, but it´s really me who would have to apologies to you. I should have never adressed to you because of this, it was a stupid thing I did, and I regreat it. You are very much right. The article is very poorly sourced (actually, unsourced, having in mind that a blog is its best source...) and the player is highly doubtfull if deserving an article or not. I feel very stupid! I was tired, and I was doing a lot of borring gnome work when I saw it, so I don´t really take responsability for those words. Today, I was feeling shamed and asking God my message disapeared :) . To tell you the trouth, I made the article because when searching for foreign players in Serbia, I found some forum where some guy remembered him saying something like:"...hey, remember that Argentinian INTERNATIONAL player that came to OFK?..." so I was wondering, it really is hard to find anything about him, so that gives people the right to say all kind of lies like that one, as he was some star-player, Argentinian international!!! So, I touth doing the page for those guys to know better who he was, and not exagerate or speculate any more, because I knew he was no star, and that he end up playing in Spain in Tercera. If you have time, you could give me some advice where to search for him in Argentine league to see if he did get to play, or was loaned to some other club, resuming, if there is anything about him from Argentina. I would also want to chek if he did played in Paraguay, as I think the article says. The problem with OFK stats is that the source I´m using doesn´t mention him, meaning that he didn´t play any league match, but, I just wanted to wait to check it somewhere first before writting 0 (0), because that source already missed some players from other clubs, so it is also possible that missed him (unlike, but possible). Well anyway, I apologise to you once more, and I´ll try to find something more about him (did you saw the source I added to his page? It looks like the way he was presented in OFK back then, as a potencial young star, that played along Mascherano, Tevez or Zabaleta for some young Argentinian squads does have some trouth there). I´ll promess to give you news about if I find something more, and you too, if you pop-up anywhere to his name. Muchas grácias King :) FkpCascais (talk) 21:54, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanx for the sources, I´ll search there, but they can be very usefull in the future... Don´t warry about Spanish, I speak Spanish since I was born (I went to live in Mexico City when I was 1 ) and did most of my studies in Spanish. I also live in Portugal for 20 years now, so I speak Spanish and Portuguese as native. I also work as translator in part-time. Since I had many Argentinian friends (and girlfriends :))), ñami, ñami...), I know to say with perfect Argentinian accent, for exemple "Callate!" . Thanx again. re: Unsourced BLP

Hello again King. I appreciate the warning about that editor. I hope that this is a case of new articles that the various BLP bots just haven't tagged yet (seems like all of that editor's contributions are from February 2010). I'll also leave him or her a message about following policy. It's unfortunate that many of the people who are new editors that won't follow the rules are also some of the most prolific - however, I've seen plenty of them reform and even help source their articles, so I still have hope. I hope you're doing well. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 21:32, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It looks all you were saying came up to be right and all you edited in the page is right. You can only add the link to Spanish wiki article, wich confirms all (sadly without sources, but anyway). I also found on Transfermarkt interesting info about his youth/early career. The BDFA page is curiously very incomplete, it even misses his Newells year! I already gave up of using BDFA because whenever I needed it, I usually found some better sites...

About Matias playing in Audax, in Audax page it says he is 23 years old, meaning he was born same year as the other (1986), so the Soccernet talks about him, as you said, but has the birthdate wrong, since it is the same as the Colo-Colo Matías one. The birthdate in Goal.com must be the right one. More from the Audax site, it says he came from Argentinian third league club Club Juventud Unida de San Luis and he is a forward (the Colo-Colo is midfielder).
So I supose everything is solved, right?
Thanx for letting me know about the competition going on there. I already sourced a pretty big number of articles, and even receved a award for it. The only problem is that I don´t know how to make a list of all players I sourced, since it was a week ago...
I touth you were Argentinian :) FkpCascais (talk) 00:35, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I know Jogurney is the best editor around! But, I still don´t know how I could see the articles I sourced. I hope going trough my contributions isn´t the only way... I already asked for help about this there. FkpCascais (talk) 00:51, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry King, since he was born in 1960, he would logically appear in the Yugoslav League all players stats beyween 1974-1992 that I have for the First and Second Yugoslav Leagues, but unfortunatelly, his name doesn´t appear at all. So, he may have played for some Third league club... His name also doesn´t appear in any of the regular sites I use for cheking players careers. You did well removing the Yugoslav nat.team thing. He didn´t even play in the Second League, much less for the national team... If I find something more about him, I´ll tell you. Send more doubts if you have. Cheers. FkpCascais (talk) 19:16, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi King. I wanted to check with you about this article because I added a link to Globo Esporte's Futpedia for this player which shows he's already made 20 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A appearances for Corinthians and several in the Copa do Brasil as well. Surely he passes WP:ATHLETE, but perhaps I'm missing something? Best regards and keep up the great BLP sourcing work. Jogurney (talk) 17:16, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for removing the PROD. I also forgot to mention that I removed the PRODs from João Arthur Bueno de Camargo, Gualberto Luís da Silva Júnior, Anselmo de Moraes and Gabriel Silva because all of them have played for Palmeiras in the Campeonato Paulista 2010. Anselmo has only played 5 minutes but, technically, even he passes WP:ATHLETE. I've also added UOL Esporte references to show that they've played (soccerway.com has similar information, but I'm not sure if it meets WP:RS). Best regards. re: Romania Liga II

Hi King. I have no idea whether this league is fully-pro, but I suspect it isn't simply because reserve sides for the big clubs play in the league. Maybe it's a good idea to take one of those players to AfD and see if some of the Romanian editors know for sure? Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 03:22, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This was a huge mess, but I cleaned it up a bit. I think he is in fact notable per WP:ATHLETE. He allegedly plays for a team at the highest level of soccer. Send it to AfD if need be, or get back to me. Bearian (talk) 04:09, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, he was on the Olympic team. While only a sub and not used in the semi-finals, I think that counts for something. Bearian (talk) 04:25, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
