The Deletionpedia Patrol is a group of editors that seeks to comb through the articles at Deletionpedia looking for improper deletions to contest on Wikipedia. This will help build a better encyclopedia.

Procedure

Once you find an article that it appears should not have been deleted, investigate why it was deleted. If it was through AFD, you will probably need to either show that the AFD was improperly closed or bring new information to light that wasn't considered before. If it was deleted through PROD, then you can usually get the admin to resurrect it on the basis of your dissent; there is a good possibility, though, that it will then go to AFD. You'll probably want to do some googling to gather some additional information to support keeping it. As always, when contesting deletions, the first step (after marshaling your supporting arguments) is to go to the deleting admin; only if that doesn't work do you go to deletion review.

Be polite to other editors and admins throughout this process. Deletionpedia is controversial, and we don't want to antagonize people unnecessarily. Remember that those of deletionist inclinations often look at deletion as an effort to counter those who are harming the encyclopedia by adding unwanted material. They are often in a hurry to get rid of it as quickly as possible, to avoid rewarding malefactors by maintaining its presence here. Mistakes can be made in this process.
