==Ángel Marcos==
Hi! I've created this article about former FC Nantes player and coach [[Ángel Marcos]], who was quite successful in France. But I'm not sure of his Argentine clubs/years played/apperances and goals. Could you have a look at the article and correct it if needed, as you seems to love Argentine football.(I understand, many great Argentine players came to France...)Thanks!--[[User:Latouffedisco|Latouffedisco]] ([[User talk:Latouffedisco|talk]]) 18:08, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Notability

I'd like to, but I think we'd need some quick !votes on them first. Very well done for finally pushing us into getting something on this page! пﮟოьεԻ 57 16:46, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Argentine Railways

Many thanks for the award. I've still a few more companies to go and can't promise the overview article just yet, but it's on my list! David(Talk • Contribs) 23:16, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

!!

Ok already, I understand. You don't have to make such a crusade already. Mario1987 (talk) 20:45, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RFA thanks

Hello King! First of all: good job working towards a notability criterion! Now, I boldly moved Diego Váleri to Diego Valeri without consulting anyone. The reason is that it's apparently an Italian name and frankly I've never seen his name with an accent before (including Lanús' site, es:wp and the first five pages of search results on Google). Then I saw that you are the one who created the article so I thought I'd at least post something to explain myself (wich maybe I should've done before moving the page). Oh, and I was actually wondering if North East meant Boston, MA, or Newcastle. Darlington, eh? Does that mean NUFC, Middlesbrough or Sunderland? Sebisthlm (talk) 15:15, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

King of the North East

Is this you??? What happened? Why were you relegated to a peasant from a King? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 21:40, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. One thing is puzzling me though why you think a longer name is trouble?? Blofeld of Spectre is only 16 letters, yours is 14. It doesn't affect the system at all does it? I'm now picturing an 11th century guy in a brown cloak walking through the english coutrnyside past a quaint little church! lol ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 22:05, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you quickly contact User:Betacommand and an admin and issue a complaint. I;ve had trouble with it spamming my talk page before but probably what is evne worse is if your images are deleted without notification . Best wishes ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 01:15, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that often happens unfortunately. I'd pledge a complaint as you suggested and try contacting User:SkierRMH . He is often willing to help out with unjustifiably deleted images. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 01:22, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No I wasn't. Thats basically using it as an excuse to nuke thousands of images without giving anybody a chance to save them. Beta was probably tired of people complaining about being drilled. Why he can't help wikipedia by adding rationales with a bot I don't know. I dislike that particular editor anyway. He can appear quite rude at times. If editors have bothered to upload images they should be given a chance to correct them. Why the bot didn't give you a list of images rather than drilling you repeated messages in the first place I don't know, but no message at all is even worse ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Betacommand

Greetings... I've left an additional comment at that talk page, asking that the bot owner go through and make sure that all of the uploaders were notified that their images have been tagged. It appears that the bot did over 9,800 that day. I don't mind when the bot works (keeps us on our proverbial toes), and glitches like that should be easily rectified. If you do come across some that have been deleted that just needed fair use or other simple fixes, let me know the image name & I'll be happy to look into & restore them if possible). I just came across several of them that were missing the FUR and restored & fixed them. (don't know if it's clear but this should show my recent (2/16 & 17) work there [1]. Placebox

Hey English peasant, how you doing, Moebiusuibeom here, I've noticed you've placed a “placebox” on Béccar and to tell you the truth, on short articles they look visually “overpowering” and the lots of white space added makes the article look incomplete, and couldn't it have a more compact map of the province instead of Argentina, especially since these are “neigbourhoods” of Greater Buenos Aires, it gives the appearance of being totally separate from the city, please let me know your thoughts, Kind Regards ~ Moebiusuibeom-en (talk) 16:12, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The national map should stay but another map of the location of the city on the province would help certainly. Many settlements have two maps -one national and one provincial to improve understanding ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 16:27, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See this ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:15, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Message sent to: Blofeld of SPECTRE; Ok, I would include the national map and the province map and in the case of Buenos Aires, also a City map including Grand Buenos Aires, Béccar for example is not strictly a city but a suburb of Buenos Aires City and it wouldn't make sense to pin point it from the Province!
In other words, large national map on left and the other two maps on right one above the other. By the way, i do maps (Please note that i will be off-line until tomorrow) ~ Moebiusuibeom-en (talk) 17:29, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Placebox
Place-box incurred upon was after discussion started, other place-boxes where not altered, I'm currently studying and researching case, sorry for not getting back sooner, will get back as soon as possible!
Present box looks ridiculous in a graphic perspective!, just too big and absolutely no relation for a small town in suburbia Buenos Aires.
While studying dilemma been concentrating in other maps and articles; La Trochita for example.
Lets not rush into mistakes, please hold any other changes until we clear this up, Kindly ~ Moebiusuibeom-en (talk) 02:52, 1 March 2008 (UTC)\[reply]

About Tigre, Buenos Aires Province, Shame Shame, i truly call this vandalism on an article i have put time into ~ Moebiusuibeom-en (talk) 03:26, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

... it's not just on how to make maps and its not just placing incoherent graphics i relation to article, please hold impulses until we all agree, I've said I'll be back shortly and you've disregarded my message and changed things the way you wanted, you've could at least sent me a note of your thoughts, please ~ Moebiusuibeom-en (talk) 03:46, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding fair use rationales

While I'm glad you're trying to save images by contributing fair use rationales, please make sure that you use correct rationales. Many images you've tagged, including Image:Thousand clowns.jpg, Image:Bonfire of the vanities movie poster.jpg, Image:Tirez sur le pianiste.jpg, Image:Barbarella23.jpg, and Image:CarlotaJoaquina.jpg, were tagged with a rationale that mentions that their width is less than 300 pixels, but the width is actually larger than 300 pixels. Please ensure that your rationales on past and future images are valid. Thanks, Ral315 (talk) 03:23, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Estacion v. Railway Station

I notice that you're changing Estacion to Railway Station for stations in Argentina. I wonder whether it's not better to leave the names of stations in their original language, thereby preserving their official title, and add an English translation in brackets for clarity. Best regards David(Talk • Contribs) 21:18, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

... tough I would certainly leave Buenos Aires Metro as it is instead of Subte de Buenos Aires for example, La Trochita is another good example, most Anglo world and the world as a whole i believe is more comfortable with the "Old Patagonian Express" than "La Trochita", and Google wise easier to find, and if we want to reach a global audience, "Old Patagonian Express" would certainly be more effective, lets study all angles, lets not rush into mistakes ~ regards Moebiusuibeom-en (talk) 03:18, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I went through the deleted iamges on that page & was able to 'rescue' a few of them. There were a few that were already re-uploaded, and several that couldn't be claimed as fair use, but the rest of them thereon seem to have been taken care of @ this point. Notability

I'm gutted. I thought we'd made some excellent progress and finally set out in black and white the notability criteria. For some reason, recently, I've stepped away from AfD, but last night, spotted a couple and thought I'd save an entry from the knife by quoting the new criteria. Or so I thought. If you decide to take it up again, just let me know. Peanut4 (talk) 01:03, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Argentine boxes

Hi. Thanks for your message. It is a shame if he thinks removing the infbox is a good idea. There is a drive to add an infobox settlement to every place and a locator map and I believe i speak for may others think they are a very useful asset to articles. I;m afraid this editor who in Argentina is not thinking globally and that many people across the world find it useful to see where it is located in the country -but I agree a more specific provincial locator iwould be useful but not if it means removing the other.

If we could find the points for this the template as below could be created also

If I was you I'd speak to User:MJCdetroit who is one of the main editors at the infobox/template project. Perhaps he can persuade this user that they must not be removed as this is considered vandalism and see about creating provincial locator maps in addition. You would need to create something like Template:Location map Buenos Aires Province if you would like a pushpin regionally too, to make it work but ask him he may be able to help you. Other than this I think it would be a good solution to find a map which displays the provincial boundaries within the country. If you see Callao in Peru I believe that sort of map kills two birds with one stone so to speak. Regards ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 12:36, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes the reason why we didn't use the image you see on the right was because it doesn't work -it places towns out in the Atlantic unfortunately. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 12:59, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you provide me a link to where that map is used as a pin pointer on dutch wikipedia? thanks ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 13:33, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GOT IT! I;ll see what I can do now ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 13:37, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tigre, Buenos Aires Province ok? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 13:47, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah I see you want me to set up the Greater Buenos Aires one for places within it but that map for the ones outside it in the surrounding province. I'll create one at Template:Location map Buenos Aires then OK ? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 13:52, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mmm I don;t know - this map doesn't seme as good ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 13:53, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looking good? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:00, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And then Azul, Buenos Aires Province will use the provincial one. I;ll see if I can find a more attractive provincial map that works ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:04, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've created my own more attractive map see Template:Location map Buenos Aires Province. Our maps look better than the dutch now but yes I said that to you before the dutch have a reputation for being highly efficient. Many of their articles are developed too in subjects that are important rather than the thousands of articles of rubbish we have on here on fictional characters and anime. They had all the articles on the french settlements set up years ago with infoboxes and demo graphs -we are laggin behind. I think they set an excellent example. I'll get around to creating the other provincial templates in the coming days. Let me know if there is a provincial map you really require asap ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:17, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As a rule for places within Greater Buenos Aires i think it is feasible to use the one map as people can see where Buenos Aires is. However for all others in the wider province and elsewhere I feel two maps are much needed. Agreed? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:20, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK I think it looks better with the country map at the top -if you could follw the example on Azul, Buenos Aires Province I think this looks good now ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:25, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree completely. I took for granted the Greater Buenos Aires article would have some locator but it could be in the middle of Greenland for all I know. If you could look for a situation map for GBA area this would be good ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:33, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Remember though there is the globe in the infobox which can be clicked to see the wider area. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:36, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If they work yes, but as I did with the Buenos Aires Province map I may give them a recolour to smarten them up a bit if needed ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:44, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You;ll be pleased to know I have them red linked at User:Blofeld of SPECTRE/Missing locator maps ready. I must continue with France now though. Regards ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:51, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. As efficient as Dutch wikipedia is, they only has a few of them at present, but if the maps exist I don;t see why I couldn't ask MJC Detroit to find the pin numbers and create maps for every province. Anyway first things first. Adios amigo ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:55, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello English peasant and Blofeld of SPECTRE, sorry for any misunderstandings, I have nothing against Place-boxes in absolute, i think in most cases they definitely should be there, my concern was that the map had no relation for a small town in suburbia Buenos Aires and that it seemed oversized, but now with the latest version we are getting somewhere, current map looks much better, but i believe it still lacks some precision, provincial map would not be necessary since it is within Grand Buenos Aires, anything outside the Grand BA city limits would certainly be provincial and would require such map, in both cases I truly i don't think the Argentina map would be necessary, nevertheless, we have many maps from different sources and i find a lot of inconsistency design wise, please let me see if i can design a set of maps for the whole area.
Let me know your thoughts?!
Kind Regards ~ Moebiusuibeom-en (talk) 21:37, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I;ve responded on his talk page. Just seen your new article and I think it looks very attractive. When I have time though I am going to merge Settlements in ... province and Cities in .... province into one Cities, towns and villages in Buenos Aires Province etc and reorganize each places in each province like so. I;ve done the same with Burma , Bolivia and Chile and a few other countries such as Laos etc and will do Peru also for starters. This way I think it avoids any confusion. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 22:08, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, on regard to Pezzarossi, to tell you the truth I don't remember his name. But I'm not an Argentinos fan, so maybe that data should be checked with a better source. If he existed and played there, why not mantain the info? Besides, removing it continuisly might be an unnecessary effort.
Oh, and is it ok to answer you here? (Sorry to ask!) Ipsumesse (talk) 10:42, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well then, his name doesn't ring any bell in my mind. I'm currently living in Spain and I haven't heard of his name here, either. At any case, it seems to me that a guy with less than 50 matches in 10 years of career wasn't very lucky with his managers. Have you asked the editor of the article who was this player and why does he qualify as notable? Regards. Ipsumesse (talk) 10:58, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Club Almirante Brown's players

I noticed that Club Almirante Brown has no players with articles, yet the Spanish version has three with articles. As I believe these players to be professionals (in a professional league), do you think it is worth the time to translate those articles to English? I ask for your opinion before starting the work. -- Alexf42 22:05, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability criteria

Sorry for the delay in replying. I think it might be worthwhile bringing them up on WP:BIO like you say; the club notability doesn't seem to be going anywhere despite our involvement in the debate (I was also thinking of doing stadium criteria (I've personally been through Category:Football venues in England and merged all those below Conference North/South to the club articles unless they are former league grounds, or well known ones such as Princes Park or Champion Hill). Let me know if you do take them there as I'll get involved too. Cheers, пﮟოьεԻ 57 23:16, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Futbol

Hello and thank you for the kind message. I have noticed your work on South American football articles and appreciate your efforts (especially fixing up some of the lower quality articles I started). Unfortunately, South American football articles don't get the same attention as those for other parts of the world. I think lack of proficiency in Spanish is the main deterrent, but I like the challenge. However, my lack of proficiency prevents me from bringing most articles above stub class.

In the short term, I was hoping to improve coverage of the Copa Libertadores participants (to stub class). It is difficult to prioritize since so many areas could use help. Perhaps I should spend some time going through existing articles to bring them up to stub class at least. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 01:28, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Footballer templates.

I am thinking about this. Rich Farmbrough, 15:02 31 March 2008 (GMT).

One way to go would be {{Argentinos Juniors squad test|full=yes}} {{Argentinos Juniors squad test}} Template:Argentinos Juniors squad test Template:Argentinos Juniors squad test Unfortunately Navbox is horrendously complex so help would be needed from the experts there to create {{Navbox header}} and {{Navbox footer}}.

Another solution would be to have a generic footballer template, and a template for each footballer: this would be designed to render as an infobox, a team line or number and name. Not full automation, because you still need to change the team in to footballer and the footballer in the team.

Rich Farmbrough, 12:37 1 April 2008 (GMT).

As far as I can see the only way to "back propagate" within WP is to use categories - they can be transcluded but that doesn't really help, the best you'd get is a list of page names embedded in some formatting cruft. The alternative is to have a footy bot that checks team membership, and produces reports of inconsistencies and/or changes. Rich Farmbrough, 09:39 2 April 2008 (GMT).

Here is a solution for the player side of the data. Weather it's useful I can't say, but it will eliminate entering the number and name etc. in three different places, and keep this stuff in step.

Template:Footballer

Note: Flags indicate national team as defined under FIFA eligibility rules. Players may hold more than one non-FIFA nationality.

I abhor class systems with a passion. Everyone has a role in life that does not correspond to their value as a person. The guy who mops the bathrooms may very well be a moral superior to the megachurch pastor, and the sincere thoughts of the "lowliest" peasant holds a far greater value than the facetious platitudes of the most popular politicians. Addressing Concerns

Hi English Peasant, I'd like to address some perceived concerns. The reason I spoke out regarding Mario1987's ban is due to the fact that while he has not always observed policies nor always been accurate in his endeavors, he has shown a will to better the project and has sworn never again to abuse sock puppets, which is the actual reason he was banned. While my personal inclination was to deny this as being motivated by saying whatever is necessary to avoid a ban, I thought it necessary to assume good faith, as per Wikipedia policy. I assure you that I shall be watching him intently, and I've chatted with the unbanning admin regarding him, so if he slips up he'll be done forever.

When I say "return to productive editing." I was trying to be encouraging, and was only supporting the edits that comply with Wikipedia policy. While the user has behaved in a questionable manner in the past, I'd encourage you to give him the benefit of the doubt, at least until he messes up again, as it'll be his last time. Anyway, I hope this clears up some issues. Cheers! --Liempt (talk) 08:56, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Paraguayan football statistics

Hi, first of all thanks for working hard on south american footballers stubs, you're doing a great job (as usual!). As far as the Paraguayan statistics I'm afraid that RSSSF will be your best bet for finding caps and goals at the national team level. As far as club level you just won't find anything, believe me, I've tried so hard to find statistics for Paraguayan players with no luck. The only info I can come up with when creating articles are DOBs and career clubs (usually by Googling or from Diario ABC Color). Regards. Bruno18 (talk) 17:08, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother but could you please tell me where can i report an user who keeps harassing me about football player articles i've created because he keeps telling me that the articles are misleading, innacurate and other things like that. He sent me many messages and i left a message back to him to erase them all if he is not satisfied, he added PROD tags to many articles and other users didn't agree with him but he dosen't give up. Recently i found this message on a talk page.

I know that my past actions were regretable but this user is just incredible. I hope you can help me. Regards Mario1987 18:35, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want i can provide many more links to talk pages where the user keeps attacking me. Mario1987 18:37, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Mario. While you have a couple options at your disposal for dealing with repeated abuse, I'd like to suggest a few things first. While a personal attack is a very serious matter, I think it's important to note that English peasant has the best interest of the project at heart, and is simply trying to stay within the guidelines for notability and factual accuracy. While it could be argued that he does so with too much fervor, I believe there are alternatives to reporting him at this stage. One of his major issues was factual accuracy; What I would do in this circumstance is, instead of treating it as an attack against me, treat it as constructive criticism. If I were sure that my articles were factual, in spite of his claim to the contrary, the logical thing to do is reference them! I think in this manner you two could possibly play off each other to build up a strong stream of well referenced articles.
Another major complaint of his is notability. I personally see people who make complaints about the notability of articles as people dedicated to maintaining the quality of the encyclopaedia. When an article of yours goes up for deletion, I'd simply wait for the community decision. If your articles are truly notable, odds are that they shall remain in Wikipedia, as several of them already have. As for these percieved negative comments towards you, I'd suggest honestly to rise above it and ignore them. Try to avoid becoming personally affected and hostile yourself, and keep in mind that many people, including yourself, do questionable things with the quality of the project in mind.
If, after all this, you still feel it necessary to take further action, you have several options at your disposal, most of them within the dispute resolution process. Consider informal mediation or contacting a third party to give a hand. If an attack is extremely disruptive (such as a physical threat or whatever) you have the option of reporting the abuser to the administrator's noticeboard, but I would strongly advise against this as immediate fighting after the release of a ban is not going to look good for you, further, I don't think he really deserves to be reported in any way shape or form. If you're still interested, consider reading the no personal attacks policy, don't call the kettle black and assume good faith
Good luck! I hope you two can resolve your dispute peacefully and work together to build strong football articles, something you both obviously want to do!--Liempt (talk) 20:36, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I hope he takes my suggestions to heart. Good luck!--Liempt (talk) 20:42, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ángel Marcos

Hi! I've created this article about former FC Nantes player and coach Ángel Marcos, who was quite successful in France. But I'm not sure of his Argentine clubs/years played/apperances and goals. Could you have a look at the article and correct it if needed, as you seems to love Argentine football.(I understand, many great Argentine players came to France...)Thanks!--Latouffedisco (talk) 18:08, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
