:I think this article in general is becoming unwieldy. It seems every topic is getting expanded sans temperance. Some summarizing and splitting up of the article is called for IMO. At least the stuff on tournament play and DCI (etc.) could be split off into Duelists' Convocation International or some such. Also, there really shouldn't be more than handful of external links -- some of them seem to be adverts. --Mrwojo 18:55, 15 Dec 2003 (UTC)

: With the single possible exception of FindMagicCards.com, none of the external links are sites associated with selling Magic cards (well, the official sites don't count, since we definitely want those up there). The external links present are probably the largest, most linked, and most useful Magic sites on the Net; I don't think those really pose a problem. I am surprised, though, that we do not yet have an article for the DCI. --Lowellian 19:08, Dec 15, 2003 (UTC)

Revision as of 19:08, 15 December 2003

199.182.102.21 added this bit of info:

_NOTE_ In the card Shackles, the ability can only be played by the card's owner.

However, I believe this does not belong in the main mage because a) It is a reference to a specific card's ability, and b) the same can be said of hundreds of other cards. I don't think we want to have an all inclusive list of card abilities here; Wizards of the Coast and other entities have published plenty of these for reference purposes. Thus, I moved the sentence here.Stormwriter

Re: Religious criticisms: I wish these folks would get their heads out of their asses. It's a game for goodness sake.

Oh, yeah, I forgot. Fundies have no sense of humor. Stormwriter

Why does this article have a trademark notice next to the first appearance of the term? I've never seen any other article have one. Is not including it illegal? Tokerboy 04:20 Nov 15, 2002 (UTC)

There are other articles that use trademark notices, especially when talking about medicinal drugs. See Sertraline and Drug (note "Tylenol®" and "Aspirin®"). I'm not going to comment on the legality, but I find the trademark notices to be good visual cues separating brand names from common names. --Mrwojo 03:31 Nov 22, 2002 (UTC)

Travelling v. traveling - according to the online American heritage dictionary:

"Inflected forms: trav·eled or trav·elled, trav·el·ing or trav·el·ling, trav·els or trav·els."

Both spellings are actually correct. Williamv1138

There risks being too many expansions listed on this page making it unwieldy. Perhaps it would be better as a sidebar or linked to a separate page.
