Your RfA
Thanks for the well-reasoned comment to my vote (though I don't completely know what the second half meant). I've already (before your message) supported User:Who, as I come across him frequently on CfD, occasionally on TfD and elsewhere. I do not think I will be voting in User:Essjay's RfA since you currently have two nominations out there, which is rather too many IMHO (there are other places to make friends...), and I have good backgrounding in Who, and very little in Essjay. It looks like all 3 of you will succeed however: congratulations! -Splash 05:44, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

Revision as of 05:44, 17 July 2005

Warning: Essjay has seen fit to nominate this editor for adminship.
Watch the drama and excitement here!

One more thing, if you are a new user thanking me for the welcome, create the section with "Thanks from (your name)" or something similar, not just Thanks or Thank you. :)

Joke Vandalism

Some lovely diamonds for your 1500th Jubilee

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page you will be blocked from editing. -- Essjay · Talk 04:46, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, yeah, I'm being funny too...I saw your little vandalism. Congratulations on hitting 1500!

I would have been here sooner, but I got a call from a friend (at 12:30 at night!) who has a kidney infection. She wanted my adivce on what to do; I told her my specialty is theology not peeology and that just because I have Dr. in front of my name doesn't mean I practice medicine! (Actually, I told her to go to the ER if she felt that bad.) Anywho, good work! -- Essjay · Talk 04:46, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

How are you a Dr. if your degree is in Theology...? Redwolf24 04:47, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a Dr. because I have two doctorate degrees (four if you count honorary degrees), although I'm only called "Dr." in academic circles. Same reason that any professor (except med school, of course) is called "Dr." -- Essjay · Talk 04:51, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Ph. D. Beautiful. Guess my academic achievement! Redwolf24 04:52, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hummm...I don't know! You tell me. I don't talk about the degrees much because I don't want people to assume things about me; for the most part, I have them listed there because they can be of some help when someone is wondering whether I know what I'm talking about or not. So, if you hadn't noticed my academic creds, what did you think about me? -- Essjay · Talk 04:58, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Well I'll try to be NPOV about it. :P I think of you as a very kind user who chases vandals. I haven't seen you contribute to articles lately, just reverting vandalism. NPOV is hard ya know >.< Anyways I'll show my education after I become an admin, though I was just wondering if anyone would vote for me really... Yes I welcome and yes I've created a lot of music related articles and I've been very active but I don't revert vandalism that much. So I'm not sure I'll win the first RfA... Ah well though, if at first you don't suceed, try and try again. Redwolf24 05:05, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I wasn't sure how mine would go, and I have 27-1-1! Granted, there's still a week to go, but some RfA's don't get 27 votes total in the whole week. TenOfAllTrades is pretty popular, and he got 58 support votes total; I've gotten half that in the first day! My point isn't to brag at all, just to say, you never know! I guarantee you you'll get at least one vote that says Overwhealming, Enthusiastic, Unequivocal Support, And I am unanimous in that! -- Essjay · Talk 05:14, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

I knew you'd get a lot of people. You are always helping and watching help desks though. Plus you answered the questions better than I think I will... Redwolf24 05:16, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think you'll do fine. You do a fair bit of helping, and it's obvious you're willing to help when asked. As for the desks, you can watch them too if you want, it honestly doesn't tak much time. When it comes time to answer those questions, if you're having trouble, I'll help you out. Plus, you know I'm going to give you awesome reviews in your nom!

It doesn't take a lot to get into RC patrol, and really, when you do, you'll get caught up in it. (Think of how much fun we had chasing the trolls the other day!) You're going to be an admin, and you're going to be great at it! -- Essjay · Talk 05:22, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

=-D I'm off to Welcome some more people! Yay

Believe it baby! I beat you to 'em! [Does a little dance] Not many of them out there right now, though, is there? -- Essjay · Talk 05:37, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Rawr. Well I still beat you 97% of the time so I'm fine :P. No there hasn't been many newbs.... Redwolf24 05:40, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Troll

Your troll is back! Special:Contributions/Mickey654 Same time every day! -- Essjay · Talk 07:51, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

>.< Its alright though. Cept he was banned for 24 hours it says. He'll be back. Oh yes, he will be back. Anyways one of those girls was being harassed online by an Ephebophile. There's nothing I loathe more than men over 18 who go with girls under 16 cause they can't get any with their own age. It frustrates me to no end. I would go on but there's no point. Anywho, now I'll leave my John Hancock. Redwolf24 08:05, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Uncanny; I'm discussing the 24 hour block with the blocker as we speak! Don't worry, the Trollslayer is on the case!

As for your friend, I sympatize with her; I'm too old for chicken, and I stay away from it. Besides that, what do a thirty-something-year-old and a sixteen-year-old have in common? ; - ) -- Essjay · Talk 08:16, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Hey, Red, go check User talk:Salilus; it looks like there's something wrong with your template! -- Essjay · Talk 09:24, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Yes, I know, and frankly I don't get it. You won't be able to fix it either I dont think >.< Redwolf24 09:26, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Are you copy/pasting or using the ? -- Essjay · Talk 09:35, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Edit conflict, predictable one. I was using but now I'm copying nad pasting. Redwolf24 09:36, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't want to have to copy/paste, I can fix it so you can subst: -- Essjay · Talk 09:38, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the offer, but please don't. Copy and paste is simpler and two buttons, subst is like 20 keystrokes. Redwolf24 09:40, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't you tell me you use Firefox? Get this extension. It lets you set predefined signatures (no character limit), and then insert them by right clicking (it adds a signature menu to your right click). That's what I use for my welcomes as well as all my RC patrol notices. It makes it two clicks and you have your message, plus you don't have to keep it on the clipboard to use it, so you can use it when you stumble across some hot girl. : - ) -- Essjay · Talk 09:50, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Calm down, dude...I just didn't quite get what you meant by "Ha." I know you've been busy; your name's gone across my RC screen quite a few times in the last few mins. ; - ) As for those users, I'm going to list them at RfC. -- Essjay · Talk 10:09, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Help

Thanks for writing back.

I already entered my revisions and saved.

Does that mean I can't "sign"?

I just can't figure out what it is I'm supposed to sign, or where.

If I logged in before making revisions, does that mean that I'm already "signed" ?

Usernames

(I'm starting a new section 'cause the old one was getting really long.)

Anyhow, I listed both of those users at RfC, and I left notes on each of thier pages directing them to the username policy. Also, the one with the nasty note on his user page got a note about no personal attacks. We'll see what the admins at RfC say. -- Essjay · Talk 10:24, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

(I think you missed the above.)

I didn't mean to sound like I thought you were hostile; that's why I added the smiley. I just didn't want you to think I was being snippy. -- Essjay · Talk 10:27, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Yeah at first I didn't comment cause of that smiley but then I decide to, minutes later albeit. Redwolf24 10:29, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WHY DID YOU DELETE MY USER ACCOUNT?

THE BULLSHIT DETECTIVE

Sounds like somebody needs to lay off the coffee...
And it was deleted because it's an offensive username. I suggest you read Wikipedia:Username_policy to make sure it doesn't happen again. NickBush24 11:13, July 14, 2005 (UTC)
Further, you should know that Redwolf24 cannot delete accounts; if your account was blocked, it was by a Wikipedia administrator because it violated Wikipedia policy. Please see your talk page for an explaination. -- Essjay · Talk 11:16, July 14, 2005 (UTC)
Neither account has been blocked as of now; however, consensus to block is developing at RfC. -- Essjay · Talk 11:20, July 14, 2005 (UTC)
I was the one who started it out. I was gonna welcome him but then I saw his name and changed it to a name warning. Redwolf24 11:44, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Right, then I went behind you and left a policy link and listed it at RfC. I don't know why he thinks his account was deleted, when it obviously hasn't been. Perhaps he needs to direct his crusade towards himself. -- Essjay · Talk 11:46, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

THATS A PERSONAL ATTACK. MY NAME DOESNT OFFEND ANYONE AND YOU KNOW IT. IF U WANNA SPLIT HAIRS LIKE THAT, Y'ALL SHOULD REPORT YOURSELVES FOR PERSONALLY ATTACKING ME. I DONT FOLLOW MINDLESS RULES. UNLESS YOU CAN PROVE MY NAME IS INFRINGING ON SOMEONES RIGHTS, IT STAYS

THE BULLSHIT DETECTIVE

Your name offends... The username policy. Your Caps Lock is slightly annoying. You add "quackery" to medical articles. You will be banned within the next 3 hours. Redwolf24 16:30, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The irony of having a bullshit detective deal out bullshit quite tickles my funnybone... Ta bu shi da yu 05:11, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your standard welcome message needs fixing

Methinks you need to fix your standard welcome message by replacing all occurrences of the tilde ~ by ~ lest the tilde-sequences get replaced when you {{subst: it. See e.g. User talk:Reynoldsrapture for the effect. Lupo 12:08, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

thanks from Buck

Thanks for the welcome. I've been visiting Wikipedia for quite a while but just started officially editing this week. You mentioned orphans. Define that for me? Also, do you know how to start a new article on a subject that shares its title with an existing article? Case in point: I wanted to add an article on guitarist Steve White but in attempting to do so, I learned that there is another musician named Steve White, a drummer. So when I started my article, I had to alter the title to Steve White (guitarist) for lack knowing a better system. Also, if someone searches for "Steve White" they will only find a reference to the drummer.

I tried to find info through reading the help pages, but so far no luck...

buck 14:16, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Taken care of. See Steve White now. :) Redwolf24 14:21, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, orphans. An orphan page is a page that isn't in any categories. Like your Steve White would be in Category:Guitarists. Redwolf24 14:22, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that was quick! Thanks a bunch. buck 14:25, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

P. S. Anti-vandalism is about all I do here :P

Anti-vandalism is needed a lot too. See Republic of Illinois for the biggest hoax I've ever seen on Wikipedia. Redwolf24 22:12, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Speedied. When I first heard about 9/11 though (by word of mouth, not on the news,) I didn't think it was true either. Thanks for the help! Y0u (Y0ur talk page) (Y0ur contributions) 22:22, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

No problem at all. As for 9/11, my mum woke me up and showed me it on tv. But that Illinois thing was a well written hoax. Anyway's I've see you before as an admin and despite the fact that you're a newer admin, you seem to be doing fine. By week's end I should be at RfA, I hope I can count on your vote! :) Redwolf24 22:24, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I took a quick look at your contributions, and since I believe in granting adminship very liberally, I've seen all I need to in order to support you. As it turned out, that was the first vfd I closed (I had to look up how to do it,) so it was a good start for me anyway. Y0u (Y0ur talk page) (Y0ur contributions) 22:34, July 14, 2005 (UTC)
Haha, I just read up a bit on the admin pages you're supposed to read when you become one. Anyways, look at Essjay who I nominated, his votes are like 40-1-1!!!!! Redwolf24 22:36, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I did read that bit before, but I promptly forgot it since I had no intention of closing vfd discussions at the time. I will read it again if I ever decide to do so (all I've been doing as an admin is deleting speedy candidates and blocking obvious vandals after they have been warned.) Y0u (Y0ur talk page) (Y0ur contributions) 22:45, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Quiet Commie-nazi, I need not hear what you say. User:Iamzodyourzodeveryzod I don't care about redbaiting how about that.

Commie-nazi. That makes sense. Redwolf24 23:22, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It was a reference to something, if you didn't have the intellegence of a 5 year old, then you understand it. You liberal meshugina.

User:Iamzodyourzodeveryzod

Pffft. I'm not even liberal (or conservative for that matter). Redwolf24 23:28, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Then you're a communist, because you are not Zod like me, so you cannot have the same opinions on things as Zod. User:Iamzodyourzodeveryzod Boo yah.

Eh this is pointless. You forgot, however, to compare me to Hitler in a 5 paragraph essay. Work on it. Redwolf24 23:34, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't compare people to Hitler because that is pointless, because no one is like Hitler. You are an evil nazi, but you're not a Hitler-like evil nazi. User:Iamzodyourzodeveryzod

Yeah you do go with the more mature things like changing the Democratic logo with a swastika. Redwolf24 23:39, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I know that's not mature. And anyway, that was my cousin, I went to the bathroom, and he got on for awhile and was being an idiot. So don't talk to me like I did anything for I am Zod and I can break you, so leave it.

Eh, you went to the bathroom for... half an hour. That's the time spent trolling my page plus the Swastika thing makes it even longer. Plus you signed with Oi VI. You're the same person. Redwolf24 23:48, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You ignoramus! My cousin just did the hitler pictures and the swastikas and what not. I've been the one talking to you you imbecile. I can't believe that people that are stupid like you exist. It makes we want to start playing russian roulette with myself.

Greetings

I've been here for a little while, and I actually admin my own MediaWiki (which I probably shouldn't link, since it's rather dead as of late..) I just don't tend to edit much around these parts, being an empty-headed college kid. But thanks for the welcome just the same. ~ Aero Leviathan 23:14, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the basket of cookies, neighbor.

I saw your post on my talk page, thanks for dropping by. I'd like to start a grandiose speech about my dreams for Wikipedia and featured articles to be, but the Simpsons is on, and a quick look-over of your page shows you like most of the same things I do: serial killers and decent music. Good luck on your administrative dreams, and thanks for welcoming me.Robludwig 23:37, 14 July 2005 (UTC) After editing this 3 times, I realize it'll be a long while until I'm a decent Wikipedian. Deletion Principles

Red, I'm looking for some counsel on a page that I created and is now up for deletion. The page is EcoDuro and it is listed in the Company listing. My thought was to list it properly in the Company listing and to write about the Company as part of a set of Companies I'm going to discuss around sustainability, which I believe is a pretty large global issue and will only grow.

The questions I have is that someone wants to delete the page for "self promotion". I read the criteria for deletion and there is no "self promotion" deletion criteria. the only thing close is the Vanity Page discussion, which I do not think this page meets. I've made comments and I'll try recruiting others to my page, but since you were kind enough to leave me a message, I thought I would reach out to get your comments/thoughts.

I have a true desire to improve the wikipedia and have already added a number of articles that I hope are valuable (American Alpine Club, Participating Preferred Stock, NAICS Entries among others). I have a thought to expand the Company section using the NAICS codes and integrating it into the Companies section of Wikipedia. It turns out that all companies or their subsidiaries will fall under the NAICS codes created by the US Census bureau.

Thanks for any thoughts or comments.

Ridiculous. I voted keep and left a comment. Redwolf24 21:03, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why is anonymous voting not allowed?

Hello, I am an anonymous troll and I want to be able to vote how I wish in Essjay's Request for Adminship. Anonymous political speech is protected by the SCOTUS, so I think it should be extended to anonymous voting in adminship requests. My "no" vote yesterday was a joke, but my yes vote today is serious, I think that Essjay would make a decent admin. Since I use AOL, you should probably respond to this message on your userpage, I'll come check it later. 64.12.116.10 16:06, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The reason anonymous voting is not allowed is because I could sign out and vote again, don't you think? Sorry if this has caused you any consternation. PLEASE consider creating an account. Especially because you're on AOL Redwolf24 21:10, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the (templated, I know) welcome, Matt. I too am Canadian--from Toronto. This is a second attempt to contribute to Wikipedia, and I think I am (finally) catching on. Both positive and negative comments are welcome, though I prefer the former.

I am currently working on the Russian version of my Sopubek Begaliev contribution, and expect it should be finished this weekend. Cheers! Neil Glennie

Papal Styles and Illegal Block

User:HisHoliness solved the long-running problem of Papal styles by moving the pope's life title to a "Trivia" section. This solution is non-controversial and is useful when the style after death differs greatly from that in life, eg. "Saint" or "Servant of God" or "Venerable". User:jtdirl, who has been involved in edit warring, reverted the edits of HisHoliness without discussion and blocked the editor.

This diff is an example of a typical edit. How is this vandalism? What justifies undiscussed reversion and blocking by an admin involved in an ongoing edit war? WikiKangaroo 22:23, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Did jtdirl block him without warning him or mentioning 3RR? That's an outrage. However there is a 3RR rule at wikipedia where if you revert 3 times, you will be blocked temporarily, this is to prevent edit wars. But there's no mention of the block at his user page... Redwolf24 22:29, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to jump in, but I think once a certain Pope dies, they no longer were styled as HH. The current Pope, Benedict XVI, is styled as HH. We had a problem of style usage before, and policy was going to be set on that, but it was FUBAR from the start. Zscout370 (Sound Off) 22:34, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Zscout. My outrage is over how he was blocked without warning. Redwolf24 22:36, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
If that is how you feel, go to WP:AN/I and file a complaint against the admin in question .Zscout370 (Sound Off) 22:38, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No, no need. As I'm not even 100% sure he's blocked. Nice to see you again though Z, and by the end of the day I think I'll be at RfA. Redwolf24 22:39, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, he was blocked. [1]. 16:42, 15 July 2005 Jtdirl blocked "User:HisHoliness" with an expiry time of 24 hours (repeat vandalism)
Without warning. :( Redwolf24 22:44, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Now, you have proof, so do take it to WP:AN/I, since a ban like this can be a serious offense. Zscout370 (Sound Off) 22:51, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Redwolf24 22:57, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the quick welcome. To be honest, I'm a little weary of sites that give free reign to anyone edit anything unrestrained (it just feels like you're asking for trouble), but miraculously, things seem to be going all right here. Eh, whatever, it's a free, so why complain?

And I finally voted for you! By the way, are you a musician like me? I'm good at playing guitar, though. -- Mike Garcia | talk 03:51, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I play the git-box. Since March of 04 :). My hero would have to be Tony Iommi (of Black Sabbath), hes a fantastic player even though he's missing two fingers! Redwolf24 03:56, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I have guitar heroes and they would be: Jimmy Page (of Led Zeppelin), Bradley Nowell (of Sublime - been missing him), Daron Malakian (of System of a Down), Joe Satriani, Steve Vai (of Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth and Whitesnake) and Dave Murray/Adrian Smith/Janick Gers (of Iron Maiden). Believe me, man, I really do have a good taste of music. -- Mike Garcia | talk 04:02, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Good stuff, Gotta love that violin bow stuff. As for Nowell, I think I prefer his singing over guitar. Daron Malakian is crazy himself :) With respect, Redwolf24 04:04, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Oh you've added more... Adrian Smith is one of my favorites. I created the article for Disturbing the Peace (by Alcatrazz) and I love Whitesnake. By the way, have a look at User:Redwolf24/Bands! Redwolf24 04:08, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I was an Iron Maiden fan since I was in middle/high school, I enjoyed listening to one of their albums (The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind (came out in the year I was born, '83), Powerslave) and attended one of their concerts during the Brave New World world tour, they visited Los Angeles, California (where I live now). I see you have it on your list. The other bands you have in your list and don't have I like and grew up with other than Iron Maiden are:

Some good bands there. I ought to listen to Bad Religion... Anywho, Nirvana is my second favorite band (only beat by Black Sabbath). I live in Washington State so I love Nirvana (as well as Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Heart, Candlebox... etc. My state is a good one for music, only beat by California (No big surprise, you have WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more people. Redwolf24 04:31, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Wow! I liked those grunge bands: Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog too (other than Alice in Chains and Nirvana). I enjoyed listening to Audioslave, the new side project band of Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine. -- Mike Garcia | talk 04:37, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Audioslave is my favorite band created after 2000 by FAR. I wouldn't call them a sideproject though as both those bands are dead. Redwolf24 04:42, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ha, you read my user page :) As for your name, I see your last name is bhagat, I have a friend over here in my city in Bothell with that last name, where are you from? Hmm..

Bhagat is my last name, Raj is my middle (always has been for male members of our family, though funnily enough, the reasons are unclear). Bothell eh? Nope, don't think I know anyone there. I'm in New Delhi.

About the tilde...Did you mean I should sign in with Hiteshrajbhagat 06:57, 16 July 2005 (UTC) followed by my username?[reply]

Nope. Look, it changed it for you :) Anyways Bothell is a city of Washington which is a state of the USA. He is of Indian descent so I see its an Indian name. Redwolf24 07:00, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I saw what happened there - kinda. I just used four tildes and it changed to my username. (I know this seems silly, but throw me a bone - I haven't read though all the extensive instructions yet..and I will.)

RFA and WA

You're very welcome -- you've more than earned my praise (and I should have said more, but you're clearly sailing through, and people around here get tired of my magnum opi (if that's the Latin plural)). I currently reside in Sammamish, I grew up in Shoreline, and I've had several close friends in Bothell my whole life. Ah, Bothell...."for a day or a lifetime". :-) Jwrosenzweig 08:31, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am truly honored to have the vote of a bureaucrat (to be honest, I one day hope to be a bureaucrat (gah that word is annoying to spell) but thats not for a Long time. Yes I love my town of Bothell. I also love our state's music... from Jimi Hendrix to Nirvana, Washington Pride! With much respect, Redwolf24 08:34, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, thank you, but really being a bureaucrat is a remarkably trifling thing. I've only promoted a handful of admins (Cecropia and Raul are far too efficient to let me get a word in edgewise). There was a time (perhaps past now) when my support would influence a few others, but now I think I'm just an old gunslinger, outdone by the energy of newer editors. :-) Still, though we are not now that strength which in old days moved heaven and earth, that which we are, we are. I'm happy to see that, to some at least, my track record here is meaningful. :-) Best regards, Jwrosenzweig 08:55, 16 July 2005 (UTC) Note: I don't know why I said Raul...I was thinking UC. I don't even know if Raul is a bureaucrat. The late hour bewitches the mind. Jwrosenzweig 08:57, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, for a day or a lifetime is the slogan of Woodinville. They seperated from us in 1993 (or is it 1992...) Redwolf24 08:35, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I feel sure you are wrong...at least, the sign coming in to Bothell always reads "Welcome to Bothell...for a day or a lifetime." I know it well, as I would always turn to my friends as we drove past, and say impishly "is that a greeting or a threat?" :-) Yet you are a native Bothellonian... Jwrosenzweig 08:55, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
O loyal son of Bothell, go ye unto http://www.ci.bothell.wa.us/ and look upon the motto blazoned with pride in the title bar. Clearly civic patriotism and motto memorization are in their waning stages... Jwrosenzweig 09:00, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
DOH! I mixed up slogans. The Woodinville slogan is something like Country Style, City Size... or something about those two...... Redwolf24 09:02, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Now I'm offended; I nominated you, remember? Remember me? [Goes off to cry and play in his sandbox.] ; - ) -- Essjay · Talk 08:46, July 16, 2005 (UTC)
Hahaha. 1 in every 20 sandboxes has traces of urine. I believe this may be true at Wikipedia too. Redwolf24 08:47, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I declare, you two have the strangest wikifriendship I've witnessed in a year or more. :-) Jwrosenzweig 08:55, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed! My trolls are his trolls (though he hasn't been sharing his trolls with me :( ) Redwolf24 08:58, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
If we keep it up, somebody's going to accuse us of being sockpuppets...
You're right, I haven't been sharing my trolls; would you like for me to go to his talk page and invite him to harass you? -- Essjay · Talk 09:05, July 16, 2005 (UTC)
From two minutes before I suggest we nominate eachother at 2,000 I thought we'd be called sockpuppets. >xD Redwolf24 09:06, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Gentlemen, you simply haven't arrived as Wikipedians until a known troll/disruptive editor has accused you and a friend of being sockpuppets of each other. These accusations (and the discussions in their aftermath) are some of Wikipedia's brightest, most fleeting joys. At least, I find them absurdly delightful. :-) I wish you both luck in being mistaken for each other. Jwrosenzweig 09:08, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No, our styles are different... He's a fan of Are You Being Served? and I'm a fan of Alice Cooper. He's a doctor of Theology and I'm some guy who overuses "haha". :) Redwolf24 09:10, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
See, this is what delights me. I'm almost always accused of being a sockpuppet of a user who bears almost no resemblance to me whatsoever. Perhaps I am among the few who find this sort of surreal accusation hilariously funny. The amusement is heightened when, upon denying the accusation, I am informed that this is classic sockpuppet behavior. Attempts to prove my innocence by pointing to contributions, editing styles, differing subject interests, etc., merely reveal the kind of depraved depths to which I and my sockpuppets will sink in order to subvert Wikipedia and thwart my enemies. Incredibly funny stuff. Well...thanks for this very fun and amusing chat -- I'm to bed now, I think. I hope we can chat again (and perhaps we'll meet face-to-face at the next PNW meetup) -- best regards, Jwrosenzweig 09:18, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I plan to go to the next Wikimeetup in Seattle. Good night though. However for the sockpuppet thing just show them Wikipedia:List of Bureaucrats and that should shut them up. :D Redwolf24 09:21, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Raul is a bureaucrat. Anyways, you can promote me upon winning my RfA :D Redwolf24 09:12, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

God that made me laugh! See, that's why I don't tell people these things; I get judged by my qualilfications. That's why I haven't given my real name or said where the degrees are from/where I teach. ; - ) -- Essjay · Talk 10:13, July 16, 2005 (UTC)

Hey, Red, I just saw this, and it struck me as funny that my answer there was such a perfect setup for something like that. I walked right into it! Anywho, see you later! -- Essjay · Talk 13:31, July 16, 2005 (UTC)

Re: Wikistress

Hello Dbraceyrules. I see you got a lot of wikistress. May I ask why? I do hope you don't leave wikipedia. Every time we lose a competent wikipedian, the idiot ratio gets a bit higher :-( Redwolf24 06:35, 13 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I was so mad because I had to witness the rudeness of other users, and their ability to continue to add garbage to the site and bash others, but I back now. Thanks for the concern. Horatii/Dbraceyrules 00:47, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If you are ever bothered by a user Marijuanaisbad. Just know that is my brother, so if he does something stupid, I beg of you please try to go easy on him. Since he is somewhat mentally retarded or mentally disabled, and sometimes he doesn't understand what's right and what's wrong. Just so you know.

Hi redwolf24 - you may not know me, but I've seen a lot of your edit around, enough to like what I see :) Good luck with the rfa! Grutness...wha? 01:48, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Who's comments on RFA

Hi, I just wanted to express to you, personally, that I do not mean any disrespect to you for my comments on your RFA. I just personally feel you could use more time working on more parts of Wiki, than just user talk pages. I feel this is very commendable, welcoming users, and discussing things, but administration comes with a bit of experience too, and if you do not participate in larger areas, you won't have the necessary experience in those areas. I although, have seen you on some VFD's and work on some other articles. This is just my opinion, and I hope is not offensive. I also do not think two people should nominate each other, but this is a personal topic, and didn't need mentioning, as there would be a consensus vote anyways. I wish you good luck with your RFA, and hope you heed some of my suggestions. Thank you. Who?¿? 02:20, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I thought there'd be a backlash about people nominating eachother. But hey, why not. And all I have to say is this, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight tooth and nail for your right to say it." -Voltaire. Happy editing and with respect, Redwolf24 02:23, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for understanding, and if for some reason you don't make it this time, which I doubt you won't (as in you will make it "double negative" :) ); I would be happy to vote for you in the future. Who?¿? 02:26, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. You should've seen Romania recently, a user wrote something along the lines of FUCK ROMANIA ROMANIA SUCKS ROMANIA WILL DIE and no one reverted it! I saw it after it was listed under speedy deletion >.< Anyways I reverted it and then the anon called me a cumstain. Ah well. And by the way I replied at the RfA, but I want this part to be amplified I hope you've recovered from that motorcycle accident. With respect, Redwolf24 02:33, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, I'm getting there, no more pain killers, so can edit clearly now. I saw your note, sorry I wasn't precise, I did a poor mental tally by scrolling through your contribs, it was pretty close, I even thought about changing the note, but honestly thought I put "half" and not "over half" :).
I always thought you were an admin. I was just searching old admin things when I saw that you didnt have a page there. Now that I see that, I notice theres no reference to being an admin, despite the fact that you have over 7000 edits. Please, allow me to nominate you? Redwolf24 02:59, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
You know, I get that a lot, "I thought you were an admin..". Thank you for the offer, I don't want to hurt yours or Essjay's RFA, so I think it would be better for you both, if you didn't nominate anyone right away. I'll eventually get noticed, when that time comes, I hopefully will have unaminous (sp) support, although I do have some stressful discsussions with some other users, nothing bad. I have a lot of edits, only because I enjoy organizing, I am not a good article creator either, I'm better at "admin" type stuff, but you dont have to be an admin to do it. Thanks for noticing. Who?¿? 03:08, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Err, I guess I took too long to respond. :) Thanks for the RFA. I hope it does not effect yours with other users. Who?¿? 03:12, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
(Replied) and to anyone who reads this, go vote for him! Redwolf24 03:18, 17 July 2005 (UTC) fixed gender :) Who?¿?[reply]

Well crap then, you better go turn down my nomination at RfA..

Look, I'd rather have you be an admin than I. Sounds like a load of crap there doesn't it? Nah. You would use the tools MUCH better than I. I can NOT believe you haven't been nominated yet. Here's hoping you make it :) Redwolf24 03:15, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Not really sure how that would look for me or you, I think its probably better for me to accept, as you only intended it in good faith. Thanks again. And never doubt yourself as a candidate, you have worked hard on doing the things you have done so far on Wiki. My comments were merely guidelines, as I did wait for you to have votes, before making them. Thats why I specifically stated that it was not to be taken negatively. You will make a good admin, I just hope you take the time to go through more of the facets of Wiki, before you get thrown into them in a conflict. Thanks again. Who?¿? 03:22, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Looking for the right wording, and answers to all the questions first. :) Who?¿? 03:25, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
For pronoun's sake, you are a woman right? Essjay referred to you as she so I assume you are a female. I've been stepping over what sex you are by just saying "this user" etc. So which are you, for the sake of pronouns? Redwolf24 03:32, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe. I am male. The name, as stated on User:Who, is just reference to my Ojibwa given name, and its funny because its ambigous. I guess I missed Essjays reference. I have a page I have to show you later on dealing with these blunder issues :) I placed your banner on my userpage, thanks for asking, but that sort of thing isnt necessarily rude, same with barnstars. Thanks, working on my temp page for the RFA before I post it. Who?¿? 03:37, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you'd better get hopping, because you already have four support votes! (And I am denying any involvement in a mass admin-nomination scheme.) By the way, Hi, Red, I'm here! -- Essjay · Talk 03:41, July 17, 2005 (UTC)
Yea, didn't mean to imply that you were, per say, I just hope no one else see's it that way. Who?¿? 04:17, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
K, got that settled. yes I stick barnstars on pages often but your page is so organized I didnt wanna stick a banner smack there on the top :-P Your RfA (As well as mine and Essjay's [like we need it ;)]) is in my prayers. Redwolf24 03:43, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Organized?? Heh, I think it needs more structure personally :) Who?¿? 04:15, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes you're here and causing me edit conflicts, jerk :-P Redwolf24 03:43, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, go shove it, you know my edits are more important that yours anyway! ; - ) -- Essjay · Talk 03:47, July 17, 2005 (UTC)

Ok, took some time, but I responded, just had to find all the appropriate links and such. Thanks. Who?¿? 04:15, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Gender benders

Hi, thought I would make a new section, for ease of reading and discussion. Here is the link I told you about. Spivak pronoun, when you get into those gender specific areas, some people, and I stress some, understand these. I often get into that same situation, sometimes I just put a link to their username/userpage in order to work around it :) Hope that helps, or is educational if you already didn't know them. Who?¿? 04:28, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry it took so long for me to respond to this. I was talking with a lady friend <.< >.> anywho, I read about this before I even registered. It drives me nuts to tell the truth. I STRONGLY suggest you read The Language Police, which as for the article, I'll work on when not talking with these people.. Redwolf24 04:32, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You randy little bugger; always off chatting up the ladies when you should be welcoming new users or fighting trolls! I may just have to go change my vote... ; - ) -- Essjay · Talk 05:01, July 17, 2005 (UTC)

:-O! Fine Ill stop. By the way, my bud WolfDreams is a new wiki user. Im helping him out... Redwolf24 05:04, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Uh oh! And BTW, I went by and left WolfDreams a nice note. -- Essjay · Talk 05:24, July 17, 2005 (UTC)

-Splash 05:44, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
