Revision as of 21:48, 22 December 2021

This page is for requesting access to the redirect autopatrol pseudoright. If you wish to discuss this list, its requirements, or NPP in general, please do so at the NPP discussion page.

Guidelines

The criteria for this pseudoright is an established track record creating uncontroversial redirects.

For a request to be considered successful it must have been open for at least 24 hours with the consensus of at least 3 editors who possess the new page reviewer permission (which includes all administrators). After two weeks, if a request does not have the individual consensus of 3 reviewers the request will be automatically closed. Alternatively an administrator may close a request as successful or unsuccessful at any time as part of standard individual administrative discretion for the granting of user rights.

Closed requests will be archived to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Redirect whitelist/Old requests after a minimum of three calendar days[a] following the close of the discussion.

Requests

Iflaq

Hello, I am requesting this right as I occassionally create some redirects. I guess I am eligible for this pseudo right as I have created some redirects which are still live. I have a good knowledge about redirects. Rest assured, I won't fail you. Thankyou. signed, Iflaq (talk) 02:56, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done, you have a solid track record thus far, but you've only created about 30 redirects. I generally only confer this pseudoperm for editors that have created 100+ redirects. signed, Rosguill talk 15:21, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ezlev

I've created 99 redirects so far, none of which have been deleted, and I definitely plan to create more. I often create several redirects at a time after publishing a new article. ezlev (user/tlk/ctrbs) 18:41, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tamzin

Yesterday I granted Tamzin AWB rights for dealing with redirects with ʻOkinas and noticed today that they've created around 400 redirects with the only issue I found being H'w'd back in 2015. As I don't have any patrolling experience though I want someone active in the area to look it over as well. --Trialpears (talk) 08:45, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for the nomination, Trialpears. :) I'm... well, "flattered" is the wrong word, but I can't think of a less-wrong one. FWIW, I was inactive when H'w'dHollywood was taken to RfD; if I'd been around at the time I would have made the case for it being an established (if niche) abbreviation, used by several RSes. I'm guessing people just didn't find those RSes because Google ignores apostrophes. But a search for "h'w'd" hollywood turns up quite a bit. I've thought about trying to overturn the RfD but I'm not entirely sure what the right forum would be. -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 08:56, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • A bunch have already been patrolled by the bot due to rules about the title and target, but for the rest I agree this user can be trusted with their redirects being autopatrolled, so support --DannyS712 (talk) 15:03, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lennart97

As a page mover, I automatically create many new redirects left behind by page moves. Additionally, I'm active at redirecting non-notable song and album articles; I only boldly do so after a BEFORE when I'm confident the redirect is uncontroversial, and I think I've shown good judgement at this with virtually none out of hundreds of these having been contested in the past. I don't create many redirects outside of these two areas, but I've never faced issues with ones that I did create and I have a good grasp of guidelines for redirects, having spent some time at RfD. GenQuest

I guess I should request this white-listing as I often create redirects, or fix redirects of others. I especially create a steady amount from my work with merging at PAM and PM. Thanks for your consideration. Regards, GenQuest "scribble" 20:33, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Qwerfjkl

I've made a large number of redirects, and gained experience, at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects and categories. This is the relevant XTools page (over 800 redirects). ―Qwerfjkltalk 19:46, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Already done by me on June 2nd. signed, Rosguill talk 16:19, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Muhibm0307

Hello, I have created a total of 207 redirects in all namespaces, and this usually occurs when I create redirects for candidates to the election that they are/were a candidate in. Only one, Katie Britt, has had an issue that required a RFD. I expect to create many more redirects. Muhibm0307 (talk) 21:57, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done, according to xtools, about a third of the redirects were speedily deleted under WP:R3, and most of these deletions occurred a mere 2 months ago. signed, Rosguill talk 16:19, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Rosguill, these speedy deletions were done by one user and that user deleted multiple redirects created by administrators. And the redirects would not usually qualify for WP:R3, since none of my redirects are implausible typos or misnomers. Muhibm0307 (talk) 02:20, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And as a follow-up, how long would my recreated redirects that were speedy deleted need to survive for me to apply? 6 months? I don’t really care about being whitelisted; what bugs me are the notifications. Muhibm0307 (talk) 03:18, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Muhibm0307, I checked several of the R3 deletions and agree with you that the usage of R3 was improper, and thus am going to add you to the whitelist. FWIW, as this is a pseudo-permission that just dispatches a bot to review your redirects instead of a real permission like autopatrol, you will likely still receive notifications when the bot patrols your new redirects. You can turn off notifications for page reviews in your account settings (although if I recall correctly, this setting unfortunately cannot distinguish between redirects and articles).  Done signed, Rosguill talk 16:17, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Danre98

Hello, I have created several redirects and plan on continuing to create redirects. The majority of my redirects I create because there are several variations on how to spell places in Afghanistan. I have had no issues with my redirects and would like to lessen the load of reviewers. —Danre98(talk^contribs) 13:38, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

With 301 redirects and 9 of them deleted (actually recreates of prior deleted redirects) I think I have a solid understanding and track record. I would like to take the load off User:Rosguill who is most often reviewing my redirects ~ Shushugah (he/him • talk) 13:34, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Rosguill just a friendly ping since I saw you're active on this page now and in case you missed this because of my indented comment. Hope you're doing well! Regards Shushugah (he/him • talk) 19:58, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Shushugah, yep, I'm aware of this request and will act on it if it remains unopposed for another day. While I do have the authority to unilaterally add people to the list, in the past people have gotten annoyed at me for not leaving requests open a few days to allow for responses before acting on them. signed, Rosguill talk 21:07, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosguill: I've noticed you reviewing rather many of my redirects, and I wonder if you could put me on the whitelist. I think I can be trusted not to create bad redirects: I've created more than 300 mainspace redirects (XTools), and the two that have been deleted (XTools) have been mistakes that I requested deletion of. @Ozzie10aaaa: is probably pretty annoyed reviewing all of my redirects for Pennsylvania routes, so I apologize for that. Per Xtools, I have created 193 redirects with 4 deleted, but the 4 deleted redirects were actually deleted articles. I also have participated a bit at WP:RfD as of late. snood1205(Say Hi! Admins not autopatrolled

The implication in #Procedures that admins are automatically autopatrolled is no longer true. Do any non-autopatrolled admins need adding explicitly to the list? Certes (talk) 12:18, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

We were discussing this at WT:NPP, my perspective is that they can be added as needed when I and other reviewers come across their redirects in thee queue, but there's no need to pre-emptively add all of them. signed, Rosguill talk 16:21, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
