Italian-Sri Lankan relations refer to the relationship between the Italian Republic and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Italy has an embassy in Colombo.[1] Sri Lanka has an embassy in Rome.[2] There are about 100,000 Sri Lankans in Italy,[3] making them the second largest Sri Lankan community in Europe, while there are about 5,000 Italians in Sri Lanka,[4] making them the largest European community in the South Asian island.
Economic exchange[edit]
Italy is the fifth most important export market for Sri Lanka.[5] In 2024, the value of Italian imported goods from Sri Lanka was 623 million euros.
