English: This is a one-dollar Alberta Prosperity Certificate, issued as an experiment by Alberta's Social Credit government in 1936. It is signed by Premier William Aberhart and Provincial Treasurer C. Cockroft. The large majority of Prosperity Certificates were redeemed and destroyed before the experiment could run its course.
