The live fire exercise is completed in three phases: training exercise, company exercise and live fire, and challenges the commander to simultaneously complete two separate objectives while maintaining command and control of the battlefield.
The Massachusetts infantrymen joined more than 5,000 Soldiers from other state Army National Guard units, active Army and Army Reserve troops as part of the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team task force. The Soldiers will hone their skills and practice integrating combat operations ranging from infantry troops engaging in close combat with the enemy to artillery and air strikes, July 9-30, 2016.
