Cannabis Ruderalis


James "Jamie" Goodwin (born July 24, 1961) is an American actor, best known for playing Johnny Bauer on Guiding Light from 1986-1990.

Early Life[edit]

Goodwin was born in Biloxi, Mississippi. His father was a US Air Force pilot and the family moved many times before settling in Waukomis, Oklahoma.[1] He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, where he performed in productions of The Glass Menagerie and The Pirates of Penzance.[2] After graduation, he was one of 10 students flown to New York for auditions. He was cast on Guiding Light within a year.[1]

Career[edit]

During his time on Guiding Light, he was involved in a controversial storyline where his character was diagnosed with cancer and cured himself with herbal tea and positive thinking.[1] After his GL role ended, he played Kevin Anderson on Another World from 1991-1993.[3]

He is an experienced Shakespearean actor. In 1987, he played Valentine in Two Gentlemen of Verona at The Delacorte Theater, co-starring with Thomas Gibson and Elizabeth McGovern.[4][5] In 1988, he played Marullus in Julius Caesar at The Public Theater, co-starring with Al Pacino and Martin Sheen.[6]
