Zapp i300 Electric Motorcycle Scooter

Zapp Scooters Limited. is a British electric motorcycle manufacturer, based in Norfolk. The company was founded in 2017. Zapp unveiled its first electric product, the i300, in 2018, as the only 300cc class electric step through (EU L3e-A2).

i300 information

The i300 is built on an exoskeleton chassis which is rigid, lightweight and can be sustainably produced. It is the first motorcycle to use this technology. It is driven by an interior permanent magnet (IPM) electric motor and is the first electric road-going vehicle to feature an air-cooled IPM. The IPM motor is powered by a pair of lithium-ion battery packs.[citation needed]

The 14 kW/587Nm IPM gives a 0-30/0-50 mph time of less than 2.4/4,5 seconds,[1] via a carbon fibre belt drive.[citation needed]

The scooter includes rider-selectable regenerative braking, which returns energy when the rider shuts the throttle.[citation needed]

Awards

Zapp's i300 won the Silver Award at the 2019 European Design Award[2] under the Transportation/Alternative Fuel Vehicles category.
