This WikiProject aligns closely with the work of the GLAM-Wiki initiative (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums), a global community of volunteers who assist cultural institutions with sharing resources with Wikimedia. Might I draw your attention to a new redlist of notable Virginia women who lack a wikipedia biography, in the form of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Missing articles by dictionary/Dictionary of Virginia Biography - drawn from the "Dictionary of Virginia Biography". Virginia: Library of Virginia.

Right now, there are more than five times as many biographies of men as there are of women on wikipedia - see the Wikidata Human Gender Indicators page. I hope this project will lend its support to addressing this imbalance by creating biographies for women within your project's scope, and perhaps by adopting the Dictionary of Virginia Biography redlist. More generally, WikiProject Women in Red has more than 300 redlists covering perhaps 100,000 notable women for whom we have no biography. thanks

We have a bunch of stub articles for Virginia House & Senate districts - see e.g. Virginia's 56th House of Delegates district. I have been debating how to categorize them for the Wikiproject. On one hand, they seem to be "low" priority, as no-one seems much interested in reading or developing these articles. Alternately, one could say the districts are perpetual and more important than any individual representative, and therefore they should be a "mid" priority for the Virginia Wikiproject. I am on the fence. Anyone else have a thought about whether the individual districts should be considered a low or mid priority for the project?--Mojo Hand (talk) 14:20, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia has many thousands of wikilinks which point to disambiguation pages. It would be useful to readers if these links directed them to the specific pages of interest, rather than making them search through a list. Members of WikiProject Disambiguation have been working on this and the total number is now below 20,000 for the first time. Some of these links require specialist knowledge of the topics concerned and therefore it would be great if you could help in your area of expertise.
